I laughed at Sam's prank. We're at 'The Regal' and the very host of the evening was serving us. It's so shocking. I never had assumed that one day I would be served by a famous chef and that all happened because of Sam.
"I'm interrupting you, but all good? " Meet Chavda, the chef and our host asked.
" Great and now, shoo away. I need some peace. "Sam said and Meet laughed.
" Fine, fine... I'm leaving. Let me know if you need anything. Enjoy the dinner "He aimed the last line to me. I smiled and nodded.
That's when I noticed that a couple from our college. They were sitting across us, gazing at each other lovingly.
" J...? " He called.
" It's Divya and Karan. Divya was in the play I participated last year. "I answered Sam. Sam looked confused. Chuckling, I went on," Nothing important. Let's eat. " Sam, only remembers his buddies and the women he had been with. Other persons are just background artist to him, who are supposed to be forgotten. Nodding, he dug in to his food like hungry lion making me laugh.

" Good night, Sammy. " I wished him as we stood outside my PG.
" Good night, J. Thank you for today. "He said with sweet small smile. I rolled my eyes. He never have to thank me. Instead, I should say that I will always be thankful to him, and, not only for a reason but for uncountable ones.
"I know I can always rely on you. For advices, I mean." He said, stuffing his hands in his jeans pockets.
"You don't have to do this formality if you don't want to. I know, Sam, that you can't be courteous. " I said, jokingly.
" Just the same. Always joking, huh?"
"That's what I do. " I shrugged and smiled. He pulled me in a hug. I hugged him back. I knew he read between my lines. I joke because bring serious always causes me damage. I had been in a phase where I was a serious person but with time, I learnt to hide all my problems and thoughts by joking and smiling.
" You are much more important than just an entertainer, baby. You just don't acknowledge it. " he whispered, still hugging me.
" Hmm.. Maybe. "I managed to mumble.
He sighed and pulled away. His hands cupped my face as he whispered," Believe me. "
I staggered back, nodding slightly, taking unsteady step towards my room, his words still ringing in my ears.

" Hey! Where were you the whole day? " Myria queried.
" Just around. "I mumbled as I flopped on my bed, closing my eyes, pushing away all those unwanted memories of the past. Never would I want to relive them.
'Believe me' his words rung back. I breathed out , thinking about all those trust issue I have. After a phase of my life, I couldn't make myself to trust anyone. I make friends, socialise, laugh, joke but never trust. I provide them with irrelevant and insignificant details but never a part of my life. They know my favorite brands, favourite food and everything of sort but not my fears. I have learnt not to reveal myself because people only take advantage."J... J... "Her voice drifts onto the maze of my thoughts.
" Uh... Yea? "
" You alright? " She asks with most sincere expression.
" Yea, I'm fine. "
She nods but with a visible frown. Knowing her and her persistent questions, I excuse myself with a valid reason to freshen up.
