It was my first day at my new school but my last week till summer break. I woke up to a dark house, due to everyone else sleeping. I got out of my bed lazily and went to the closet. As I put the finishing touches on my outfit, pale skinny jeans with rips in them along with a black tank top and a short sleeved, unbuttoned flannel, I grabbed my light draw string bag and headed out the door. As I walked to the bus stop the cool, crisp wind hit my face in a harsh manner. In a matter of minutes I arrived at the end of my new road. I didn't see anyone for another three minutes taking a mental note that I didn't have to leave so early. Breaking my thoughts I felt my stomach grumble. You can't eat you are already fat enough. I thought to myself. I'll just wait till lunch to eat just a little bit. Finally after what felt like a eternity of awkward glances and uncomfortable silence a bus came to screeching halt in front of me. I slowly climed on the stairs and quickly sat in the front seat of the bus. I plugged in my headphones and blocked out the world. It felt like only a couple of minutes before we arrived at the building but in reality it was a 30 minute drive. I walked into the school earning many stares and whispers. I looked to my left to see the main office. Opening the door I saw the secretary was busy on the phone so I stood there patiently looking around the room. I saw neat arrays of books arranged by size, pictures of the secretary with possible family and friends doing various things, and motivating posters. I then heard a click of the phone realizing she had ended the call. "Can I help you dear?" She said, her voice caring obviously showing she had kids.
"Hi I'm Sterling and I'm um....new here." I said awkwardly.
"Oh yes! The consoler is waiting for you. follow me." She stated as she came around the desk and out the door motioning me to follow her with her hand. We walked down the rows of halls then came to a abrupt stop at a door she smiled warmly.
"Go on in and tell the lady at the desk you are the new student Sterling." She instructed before waving and clacking away in her high heels. I walked in warily, nervous of conversation. I saw a older woman at the desk but she had a kind bright smile.
"Yes?"she said sounding a lot more chipper than the last woman.
"M-my name is Sterling Welsh and I'm new h-here." I mentally slapped myself for stuttering. One for stuttering. I reminded myself of my punishment.
"Well let me call in the consoler real quick." She dismissed herself as she got up and opened up a door saying something along the lines of there is a new student here. A few seconds later a younger woman walked out with the other trailing behind her. She had mesmerizing black hair, wide, sparkly green eyes, clear, olive skin, wearing a grey dress a little above the knees and black sneakers.
"Hi I'm Mrs. Hilton follow me and we will go over your schedule." She said in a calming voice. I followed her to the office.
