After she asked me a couple more questions we started to walk down one of the hallways.
"So Sterling your first class is social studies and the class is about halfway through." Mrs.Hilton said as she kept her eyes in front of us. We arrived at a door that she knocked explaining that most doors stay locked. The door suddenly popped open slightly. She walked in first with me trailing behind her my head tilted down so I didn't have to look at people.
"Hi I'm Mr.Cruzado." He said with a genuine smile. He looked older, grey hair, wrinkles but had a small strongly built body frame.
"Hi," I stuck my hand out for a handshake and he gladly took it, "my name is Sterling."
Out of nowhere I heard a girl screech out in joy. My heart started to beat 3 times faster because my social anxiety. I started to turn around slowly when my eyes stopped at the sight of wide pupils fairly close to me.
It was a girl with large hazel eyes, light brown hair up in a messy bun, and a blue lace dress.
"Hi my name is Lauren." She said giddily with a pearly white smile. I could tell my eyes where laced with anxiety.
"I'm S-Sterling." I said attempting a small smile. I knew she was trying to be nice but she was a little overbearing.
"Well sterling this is-" she pointed to the girls that had just arrived behind her ,"Megan, Katy, Ally, Shana, and Kayla." They all waved politely and I waved back, "we just wanted to welcome you."
"Thank you." I managed to spit out shyly.
"Now sterling, why don't you go and sit next to Axel." He pointed over to a short boy who had cute black hair, a My Chemical Romance tee and Kakis. As he heard his name he looked up curiously as though he didn't even notice me. Of course he didn't notice you. He probably didn't want to look at your fat and feel disgusted. The thoughts in my head raced as I headed for the empty seat next to the cute boy. I was very quiet the rest of class I didn't say a word but my leg bounced rapidly under my desk and that drew the attention of Axel. Out of the corner of my eye I could see him look at me for what felt like a life time. Then I heard a ringing erupt in the class as I saw students gather their things and leave. I did the same as I saw Axel with his head down so I lightly shook him. He shot up from his chair and looked around frantically realizing that it was time to leave. He calmed down and looked at the floor shyly.
"Thanks." He said quickly before heading for the door leaving me alone. The rest of the day nothing really happened I just introduced myself to teachers, took a empty seat, and stayed silent. When I heard the final bell I walked out of class and to the hallway immediately bumping into someone. It was Axel he looked startled and his eyes were dilated. I stumbled over my words as I tryed to collect my things that fell to the ground.
"I-I-I'm s-o sor-sorry I wasn't watching w-where I was going I'm a idiot." I then heard a light chuckle as I stood back up with my things in hand. He was laughing at me. He probably thinks you're a dumb girl and he pity's you. I felt a wave of sadness and anxiety come over me. I rushed past him toward the exit and walking toward my bus, tripping over the steps and sitting where I sat the morning before. The ride home was uneventful and boring unlike my old bus. Everyday it was like a jungle on that bus things being thrown left and right, kids screaming, but then again it was always fun. Making me think back to a memory on the bus.~flashback~
It was the afternoon. My best friend Nikki and I were in our usual spot in the very back. With the absolute fuckboys sitting across the isle. One of the 6th graders in the middle of the bus always caused trouble with the boys next to us trying to act big and bad. On a Friday in particular he threw a open, full Gatorade at all of us in the back forcing Nikki and I to work with the fuckboys. Our plan for revenge was that Nikki and I would make jello eggs filled with dye inside and bring them in a bag on Monday. Monday afternoon came and it was the kid's bus stop so we all opened the windows on the right side. Aiming at the boy we counted to three and chucked him one after another. He turned around in utter shock as the bus started to pull away. We closed the windows giving eachother a high-five as doing so.
~flashback~
I smiled at the memory then looked out the window to see we were about to stop on my street.
