20 years later...

1. Connor and Amanda. Location: New York (USA)

Amanda's p.o.v

After I did a long, long inspiring walk through the Central Park, I sat down in my cozy armchair, a mug of tea in my hand and my laptop on the top of my lap. Where else?

It was mid-autumn, my favourite time of the year and I opened my writers program for starting a new book.

After my first book was such a success,  I started writing a sequel. After that it became a trilogy but now I needed to start something else.

I looked at the clock. It was 11am. I had a few hours until the kids would come back from school.

I wrote the Prologue very fast, but then I wondered, what it had to do with my story.

I just couldn't think about anything useful. I tried to write the prologue about 4 times, everytime with a different idea. And every single one, sucked again.

Then I decided to start the first chapter, without a prologue. It went well and I wrote the rest of the afternoon.

I wondered, why the kids didn't come home from school. It was already time for that and none of them had something to do that day.

It was just a normal Thursday. So I started worrying, 10 more minutes, after that I'd call them, I thought.

I didn't want to be one of those meticulous mothers, since my mom was and I hated it.

So I sat down in my arm chair again and tried to calm myself down.

After two minutes, which felt like forever, I noticed someone entering the house. But not our children, it was Connor.

Earlier than expected and with a bouquet in his hands.

He gave it to me, and I kissed him. "What is this about?" I asked and then he looked shocked. "Our twentieth anniversary?!"

As he said that, I remembered. I was so distracted by my writers block, that I forgot the day, I've been waiting for, well twenty years.

"Oh god. I'm so sorry." I excused myself and explained, why I forgot everything.

He loughed. "It's okay Amy. I nearly forgot it, too.

But someone send me, or better us this letter. He fished in his pocket and gave it to me:

Amy and Connor,

Well guys, twenty years. It's a long time. Can you even remember, how you got together? I can. And I'm still jealous. On Thursday is the big day, Connor. Don't forget it, plan something nice, we all know you can. I hope for the best. And if you want to thank me (which I hope, since I saved your relationship...) then come to London Heathrow airport on Sunday. I'm looking forward to see you. Flight tickets were in the envelope, if you don't use them, more trees died because of nothing, and I don't think you want that.

"We're going to Heathrow!!" I squeaked. "Actually,..." he started but I interrupted him. "No please Connor. I haven't been in London for ages. Please!!"
