The Mystery Band (chapter 14)

The rest of our holidays went fast. I recovered and after that, enjoyed my holidays. We went to the beach each day and ate tons of fish.

One day before our departure, Cleo came excitedly in my room and screamed "Jess, because I never asked you for something, I do now and I'd do everything for you if you say yes."

"Wait, wait..." I laughed. "You never asked me for something?!"

"Well maybe a few times, but I'll never ask you again if you just say yes! Do you say yes?"

"Can I please first know what this all is about?"

"Oh did I forget that?" she wondered.

"A friend of a friend has two tickets for a band. They are adorable you'll love them. It's their first concert after a long break about two years or something, personal reasons, don't ask me. I wanted to go there but Mom didn't allow. But now I have you! If you'd come with me, she'll probably allow. I wanted to buy tickets but they were sold out. But the mentioned friend is not able to go there and would give us the tickets, soo?" she said very fast and made a puppy face.

Did I ever mention that you can't refuse her anything, when she makes this face?

"Okay!" I said. "On one condition. You don't tell me who they are. I love it to hear music live, that I don't know."

She smiled. "Okay but let me tell you, they have many fangirls."

"Sounds like fun!" I said and she hugged me. "You're the best sister ever."

- the day of the concert -

It's a beautiful day and I can't stop myself from smiling...

Cleo sang, which woke me up. I was so excited for today. It was going to be my first concert after the accident and I felt that something special was going to happen.

I went to the kitchen, where Cleo was making pancakes. She was so happy, it was contagious. It was the best feeling to know, you made a person that happy.

"Sup my little early bird" I smiled. She hugged me again. "Good morning, slept well?"

"Yeah until you woke me up!"

"Oh I'm sorry." Cleo sounded worried.

"No it's fine." I explained and it really was. Seeing my little sister so happy and bubbly was it worth to wake up that early.

A big smile appeared on her face again and it didn't dissappear the whole day.

After the breakfast, Cleo and I went shopping. Mom gave us some money for an outfit for tonight.

We talked the whole time about everything except the band. Cleo was good in keeping secrets.

We went to many shops and bought denim shorts, which were high waist and light blue dip died, for me. And a cute red dress for Cleo. She said she was not going to wear it that day. It was for something else.

"Aww is my little sister going to have a date." I grinned.

"Shh!!" She said annoyed.

"So it means yes? What's his name, tell me that. C'mon I'm your sister."
