Before they knew it, James and Lena grew up.
The summers together had become semi-annually since the two of them had become distant.
And since their last time together they both became the young lady and gentlemen they were meant to be.
Now eighteen years have gone by since the arrangement.
Both young kids had gotten their driving licenses and hoped that this summer they could do what they wanted.
Nope.
"Dad!!! Please don't make me go, the girls want me to stay this year so we can go do stuff, like shopping, finding boys-" Lena would express.
"BOYS? Lena, honey, there is a boy you will see, his name James!" her father replied.
"Ew, dad I don't want to look at him, he's not cute! His blonde hair is always in his face, and his face is annoying. And like, does he even have abs?" She said.
Her father's jaw dropped.
"You shouldn't be looking at boys anyway, especially if they have abs!" Luke said and opened the car door for his daughter.
Lena got in and sat in silence, scrolling through her phone while she waited for her summer to suck.
With the car pack and ready to go, Luke and his daughter left their lovely villa and head to the town next door.
Lena had grown beautifully. Her hair fell long and blonde almost to her mid-waist, and her light blue eyes always seem to catch the sun just right. She worked out occasionally, so she was faster and stronger.
On the day of traveling, she wore a skater skirt that flowed loosely around her thighs and a crop top which she matched with her converse. She had also added some jewelry. A small gold necklace that belonged to her mom and some gold earrings.

James woke up and realized today was the day Lena was to come.
He threw his pillow at the door and rubbed his face groaning. Over the past two years, he had changed. He'd gotten a haircut so that he now had to comb his hair up or to the side to keep it out of his beautifully bright green eyes. Since he had joined the lacrosse team he had to work out, so he was built.
"James! Please jump in the shower, they'll be arriving soon!" His mom called from downstairs.
"Okay, mom!" He called back. He slumped up out of bed and into the bathroom. He turned on the shower, stripped from his underwear, and jumped in.
After his shower, he got out and got dressed in some khaki shorts and a tight black tee-shirt. Matching it with his Rolex watch and vans, he ran his hands through his hair that he decided he didn't need to do today and left it messy.
The doorbell rang.
Here goes nothing... but my summer, James thought internally groaning.
