Previously: James and Lena kissed. Whoa. I know. Crazy right? So James decides that he should take her on a date, cause he wants to make it more of a relationship. So here we are...
"We're here love.." James said softly nudging Lena awake. "Where's here?" Lena said softly, sitting up. She seemed to have fallen onto James's lap while sleeping.
Embarrassed a little she tired to look around to cool her now flushed face. She looked out of the front windshield.
There in front of her stood an amusement park on the boardwalk. "Oh, James! I've been wanting to go to an amusement park! It's been forever since the last time I've been!" Lena exclaimed.
James got out and opened Lena's door, taking her hand, he replied, "I know. I asked your dad what I should do, and he offered this.... do you really like it?"
Lena nodded with so much excitement she seemed almost child-like. This caused James to chuckle. "Well I'm glad," he said laughing at her behavior.
Together, hand in hand, they walked to the front gate. Lena was almost dragging James with her to the ticket booth when suddenly she stopped in her tracks.
"Oof, Lena, why the sudden stop?" James asked bumping into her.
"Oh, I uh... just forgot.. nothing, nothing important, let's go have fun, yeah?" She said shaking her head and smiling.
"What's the matter love, why'd the sudden change in attitude? Is everything alright?" James asked. He looked at her puzzled.
"Yeah, I just forgot the last time I was at an amusement park I was on my first ever date and he left me there on a ride by myself," Lena said avoiding any eye contact with James.
"Oh Lena, love I'm so sorry, I would NEVER do that. Ever." James squeezed Lena's hand tight, causing Lena to smile.
"I know, cause I'd tell your mom!" Lena said and stuck her tongue out.
James laughed and pulled Lena into a side hug, "you would, wouldn't you!"
Lena nodded with a grin, chuckling too.
At this time they were at the front of the ticket booth, "How many?" the lady asked.
"Two," James said with a smile and squeezed Lena's hand. She looked up at him and smiled. "Okay, there you are, enjoy your day," the lady said.
Lena and James entered the park. James instantly pulled Lena into him and hugged her, "Today is going to be the best day of your life," he said.
"Whoa James, your awfully huggy today, everything alright?" laughed Lena.
"I just want everything to be perfect." He sighed into Lena's hair.
"Don't worry James, everything's going to be great! As long as you don't leave me at a ride," Lena stated placing a kiss on Jame's cheek and breaking from their embrace. "Let's go have fun! Ohhh! That thing looks fun! Let's ride that!" Lena's eyes grew with excitement as she dragged James right behind her and towards the ride.
A few hours passed by and the sky started to grow dark. After riding almost every single ride in the park, Lena and James walked hand in hand laughing and giggling at each other, sharing a cotton candy James had purchased.
Sounds of a screeching and crackling shot through the air. The sky lit up with colors of gold and green and pink, as fireworks over the boardwalk began to fire off.
"Wow!!" Lena's eyes gazed in amazement.
James never took his gaze of Lena though, and mumbled, "I know right," with a desire in his eyes.
Lena glanced up at James watching her, "oh you, stop that silliness, I'm being serious," rolling her eyes.
"Don't you think now would be a great time to walk the beach?" Lena asked.
"That would be a pretty good view, I don't see why not, come on," James stated leading Lena with a slight nudge on the small of her back.
They reached the beach in almost a minute and Lena went to take off her shoes.
"Wait! Why are you taking your shoes off?!" James asked. "Because I don't want sand in my shoes.. of course? These converse might be old, but I'm still trying to get more of use out of them." She stated with a questionable look on her face.
"But.. aren't you worried about... you know... crabs in the sand?" James asked scratching his head.
Lena laughed. She laughed hard. Then she stopped. "Oh, you're not kidding..?"
James' cheeks turned bright red. "Lena I don't want you to get hurt." He stated jaw clenched.
Lena smiles, "James. I'll be okay, I promise."
James sighed in defeat as Lena continued to take off her shoes and socks and stepped into the sand. James happily took hold of Lena's shoes to hold and smiled down at her.
From there the two of them walked hand in hand to the edge of the sand and watched as the explosions of colors appeared in the sky. Ooing and awing at the different shapes and colors each firework performed.
Eventually, Lena grew tired and asked James if they could head home. He agreed and began to guide her back towards the entrance of the amusement park.
*This date went better than I ever expected for it to* thought James, smiling to himself the entire time they walked back to the car.
