Chapter one: The rescue.

Elizabeth was a girl of the age of twelve, who lived in a simple house, in a small town in England. Her life was tough to say the least. Her eldest brother, Ben no longer lived with his family. He moved away during his last year of boarding school. He told his little sister he was going to Transylvania for a research paper with his team of scientists. At least that's what he told her. But once he left, everything changed for Eliza.

Her second eldest brother, Mark and her father started to treat Eliza horribly. It started off with name calling and gradually became worse as the days went by. Unfortunately her mother, wasn't much help either. Too afraid to stand up to her husband and intervene. If she walked in on her son or husband abusing her, she's simply walk away.

The day Ben came back after his sixth year of boarding school, was also the day their had crossed a line, that was the day things became physical, Ben intervened immediately, grabbing his sister and pulled out his wand from his jackets pocket.

Eliza wasn't sure why her brother optioned a stick at them but, since that day, they hadn't dared laid a finger on her since. Soon it was time for Ben to leave for the last time. Of course things went back to how they were, Ben told her he'd come back for her one day, they would move away from here. So she waited patiently for him.

Eliza hated it in that house, living in constant fear. Eliza never had the luxury of going to school, having a birthday or Christmas. All she truly longed for was a different life. A life where she was with a different family who loved her, wanted to give her the best life possible. But to her, that was just a distant dream.

But this one night everything changed. She waited until the house was asleep, she had everything she needed packed. She wasn't sure where she was going but, that didn't bother her.

She waited until the house was silent and she knew for a fact everyone was asleep. She quickly raced out the house, out the front gate and down the street.  She'd been walking for house before stumbling upon a park. Not planning to stay here permanently, but a place she could rest her head before figuring out her next move.

****one year later****

Eliza had been living in the streets for a year now. It wasn't the original plan but it was better than where she was. No one from the house came to find her, she was on her Owen in the world.

People would pass her by, staring at her. Some would stop and offer her change to get something to eat. Other times, and more frequently, by passes would stare at her with disgust. Over the past year, Eliza had been forced to be a little more resourceful. Taking advantage of the near by river as a water source and to wash in.

The sun was setting creating a blissful sunset on the horizon. The park lamps slowly turned on one by one until all of a sudden, the light disappeared. One by one the lights were being captured, in no less than a minute, there was only one lamp left, the one that was directly underneath her.

She looked around trying to find the source of the sudden power outage when suddenly, there was an old man walking towards her with a silver bread. Even though darkness was surrounding them. She could just make out a smile on his face, his eyes were hidden behind half-moon spectacles. He seemed happy, hoping he was going to walk by her, he in fact did the complete opposite.

Albus came over and sat down beside her. She was a little scared but remained quiet. They say in silence until the elderly man broke the silence.

"Good evening, Elizabeth . My name's Albus Dumbledore, I'm the headmaster of Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Hogwarts a school of magic. There, you and many other children like yourself are taught how to control your magic." Albus told her, noticing her panic while she tried to disguise it.
