It was finally the end of the summer and time to return back to Hogwarts, this was going to be Alex's first year at Hogwarts. She couldn't really work out if she was excited to learn about magic and more about herself or if she was scared of this new journey. For one thing, she wouldn't tell her parents about her feelings, she wanted to prove to them she wasn't a weak being like her old family use to see her as.

Severus spent most of his holidays teaching Angie some simply magic and potions, while her mother had given her some spare copies of books she found in the library. Majority of them were quite thick but Angie didn't mind, she enjoyed having her time taken up with reading. Severus was slowly getting used to having Angelica around, she kept the house loud and kept him on his toes.

She's had a dramatic impact upon the married couple however, Severus was affected more so than Vanessa. He'd never admit to it but, he enjoys having a daughter, someone else that could see the soft, loving side of him. He had a lot of love to share and Angelica brought it out. Providing for her, keeping her safe and simply having her as his daughter put a true, genuine smile on his face.

But how was he to protect her if there was even the slightest chance of the Dark Lord rising once again? he couldn't bear the thought of the prophecy that was told a few years ago could be right. Was it about his daughter? His mind would wonder during the late hours of the night. Keeping him awake with the added stress of the possibility of the Dark Lord recruiting or killing his daughter.

He would continuously plunder this thought until he lifted up his shirt sleeve and see a very faint tattoo like mark on his arm, with a snake coming out of the mouth of a skull. Seeing his Dark Mark almost completely gone, gave him the reassurance he was looking for. He'd push this thought to the back of his mind to prevent worrying his family. Now however, he wounder whether or not the prophecy's about Angelica.

Today however, was not a day from him to think about that, today was the day all the students returned to Hogwarts and it was Angie's first day at Hogwarts. But, unfortunately, Vanessa and Severus couldn't arrive with her as they were needed at Hogwarts early. But Severus needed to discuss a few important things to her before they left.

The plan was for Vanessa and Severus to guide her to Kingscross, watch her go through the barrier wall separating the two worlds and then going to Hogwarts where they will see her enter the doors of the grand hall for her sorting ceremony and the feast later tonight.

It was bright and early on a Monday morning, normally Angie wouldn't be too thrilled about Mondays as it used to be the start of a very long week at her old school, a place where she would get bullied for being adopted. How the other kids knew about that was beyond her, but that's where she built her berries and walls up, to block out the world to the point where she didn't care what the other kids said about her.

All of that has changed now, this time, this Monday for her was very exciting. She was finally going to Hogwarts and learn all about magic and the magical world. She also wanted to impress her father, she doesn't want to disappoint him like she had with her biological father. She knew Severus was the head of Slytherin house and she also knew that was the house she wanted to be placed into and that's what Severus wanted as well.

Angelica rolled out of bed excited for the day's events, she packed the last of her things into her trunk and gently placed her owl in her cage. She placed her wand in the inside pocket of her jacket and headed downstairs. Vanessa was in the kitchen making breakfast for the three of them while Severus was sitting at the table with his coffee, reading the Daily Prophet.

As soon as Angelica stepped into the room, Severus folded his paper in half and placed it on the table in front of him. He took a sip from his coffee and greeted her with a half-crooked smile, she smiled back at him and took her seat beside her father, looking at one of the pictures in the paper. Vanessa turned around with a plate filled with pancakes and greeted her.
