Chapter 10: Detention.

     ***No one's P.O.V***

Harry and Angelica woke up early on a crisp, winter's morning. They decided today would be a perfect morning to go for a walk. The snow had fallen through the night, creating a chilly and misty picture.

They stepped outside and the snow danced in the sunlight, as if it was engaging a ballet dance, conducted by the soft wind. The snow blew gently in the wind, delicately flowing around in the air, lightly dusting Harry and Angelica.

The pair walked around the grounds all rugged up with their owls perched on their arms. It had been three weeks since they last saw the Mirror of Erised.

They stopped in the snow, leaving a track of fresh footprints behind them and the two owls took off, soaring away together into the snowy sky. The owls wouldn't returned until the following months of spring. During that time, the students who left for the holidays had returned to finish the rest of their first year.

Classes ran the same, the four friends acted as if they hadn't been apart and were currently in the library. Harry and Ron were sitting down, quietly reading while, Angelica and Hermione came back from the bookshelves with a huge book. Angelica thumped it on the table, causing the boys to jump in fright.

"I had you looking in the wrong section! How could I be so stupid? I checked this out a few weeks ago for a bit of light reading." Hermione claimed as she started flicking through the pages.

"This is light?" Angelica and Ron said at the same time, gaining a glare from Hermione.

"Of course! Here it is! Nicholas Flamel is the only known maker of the Philopher's stone." Hermione said.

"The what?" Angelica, Harry and Ron said in sync.

"Honestly, don't you three read? The Philosopher Stone is a legendary substance with astonishing powers. It will turn any metal into pure gold and produces the Elixir of Life, which will make the drink immortal." Hermione read the passage from the book.

"Immortal?" Ron questioned.

"It means you'll never die." Hermione cleared.

"I know what it means!" Ron protested back.

"Right, which is why you questioned it." Angelica shot back.

"Shut up, Angelica." Ron said.

"Shh!" Harry hushed him.

"The only stone currently in existence belongs to Mr. Nicholas Flamel, the noted alchemist, who last year celebrated his six hundredth and sixty fifth birthday! That's what Fluffy's guarding on the third floor. That's what's under the trap door... the Philosopher's Stone." Hermione finished as they all looked at each other. That night, the four friends ran out of the castle door and across the wet, dewy grass, over to Hagrid's hut.

"Hagrid!" Harry spoke, and Hagrid opened the door wearing a pair of oven mitts and an apron.

"Oh, hello. Sorry, don't wish to be rude, but I'm in no fit state to entertain today." He said as he closed the door.

"We know about the Philosopher's Stone." They all spoke together. The door opened again, and Hagrid looked at them baffled.

"Oh." He replied to them and let them into his hut.

"We think Snape's trying to steal it." Harry spoke.

"Snape? Blimey, Harry, you're not still going on about him, are you?" Hagrid asked him
