Whenever we arrived at Peyton's house, I knew that I had to tell Paisley and Linda while Peyton was in the washroom right after we arrived home.
"Paisley.. Linda.. I need to tell you guys something. Come here," I waved them into the living room. I knew Peyton wouldn't be able to hear us from the washroom if we were in the living room.
"What do you need to tell us, Luke? Is it something that the doctor said?" Paisley wondered, very curious. Ever since Peyton's crash, Paisley had gotten more and more curious. She wanted to know everything that was going on and any way that she could help her sister.
"Yes, it is something that the doctor said, and I need to-" I was stopped mid-sentence by Linda.
"Is it something bad? What did he find? Or is it good? Please tell me it's good," Linda begged.
"Please, I'll tell you. But you both need to calm down. It's something good. Better than good. It's excellent. You won't believe what he told me. It's so great-" I was cut off again.
"Would you please just tell us?" Linda pleaded.
"Yes, of course. I'm sorry," I apologized and sighed. "Whenever Peyton wakes up tomorrow morning, she'll have her memory back."
"Oh my God!" Paisley squealed. "I can't believe it!"
"I know. It so exciting. I can't wait until I can talk to the normal Peyton, regular Peyton. The Peyton I had just a few months ago."
"So will you be going back on tour any time soon? Because she'll have her memory back, and you said you wouldn't be leaving until she got her memory back. What will you do once she has it back?"
"I have no idea. I don't want to leave, though. I know I'll have to sometime. And I'll have to be gone for longer because of all of the shows we've already cancelled. We'll have to make up a lot of shows," I sighed.
"What are you guys talking about?" Peyton walked into the living room, and when she spoke, it startled me.
"We're talking about my band," I shrugged, trying to play it off as if it didn't matter much.
"I've been listening to your music a lot, Luke. You have no idea how obsessed I am with it. It's amazing," she smiled at me as she spoke about the band's music.
"You've always liked our music. Sometimes, it seems like you like our band too much," I chuckled, thinking about how she'd soon be able to remember everything that happened between her and the band or between us or just in general. "I love you. You know that, right?" I randomly spoke.
"I know that," she nodded and turned to walk up to her room. I left her go without following her. We'd promised we wouldn't really let our relationship interfere during the time she was still unable to remember. I'd totally forgotten about that.
"You know she loves you, Luke. She just doesn't want to say it because she doesn't remember any of your relationship. She does love you, however," Paisley assured me.
"Trust me, I know that. And that's why I was sure she'd say yes. But she got in a crash and got amnesia, so I wasn't able to ask her to marry me. That still crushes me. For the past two and a half months, I've focused on Peyton getting better, I'm just glad that after today, starting tomorrow morning, I'll be able to focus on other things. Peyton will remember after tomorrow," I sighed, thinking of how much of a relief it would soon be, knowing that Peyton would be able to remember and that we could then make new memories with each other.
That night, Peyton didn't say much. She seemed quiet. I couldn't stop thinking about the hospital tests and the results and what the doctor said. I wondered how Peyton would feel the next morning, how she'd react to having her memories back.
I couldn't imagine going over two and a half months without remembering anything in the past ten years, then suddenly remembering everything. I wouldn't be able to handle it. I would be so excited. I couldn't wait until Peyton could remember. We'd gone two and a half months without her remembering anything, and now she was less than a day away from remembering everything. I was excited to see how Peyton would react to having memories from the past ten years.
"I'm tired," Peyton announced. Both Linda and Paisley looked at me with wide eyes. They knew that knee she woke up tomorrow morning, she'd be able to remember everything.
"Well, then let's get you up to bed, okay?" I looked at Peyton with a small smile on my face. She nodded as she yawned and smiled softly at me.
"You've had a long day. A pretty good day, too," I told Peyton as I led her up the stairs.
"When will we get the results from the tests from the doctor?" She asked quietly.
"Sometime pretty soon, Peyt. I promise," I assured her. She'd know the next morning. She'd be so excited.
"Okay," she sighed as we turned into her bedroom. She laid on the bed, and I wasn't worried about having her getting comfy to sleep because she had already taken her bra off, and she had a comfortable shirt on with sweatpants.
"You get a good night's sleep, okay?" I said to her as she got situated into the bed. I slightly saw her nod before I closed her bedroom door. I made my way to her bed and got in beside her.
"I love you, Peyton Claire Gray," I whispered to her, and soon after, I could tell she had fallen asleep.
*Peyton's POV*
The next morning, I woke up in the bed alone, and I was facing the wall adjacent to my bed. I yawned and soon realized that I could remember everything. Memories anywhere from birthday parties to meeting Luke rushed through my mind.
I thought of the first time I met Luke as I rolled over and went to get out of bed, excited to tell Luke that I remembered. I was surprised to see him right beside my bed, kneeling while holding a ring in a box to me. I gasped and looked at Luke. He smiled at me.
"Will you marry me?"
