"How could you not tell me!" I screeched my voice was loud and high pitched. This happened often when I got angry.

"I didn't think it was relevant," he tried to explain casually dodging a pillow that came his way.

"Not relevant?" I scoffed, "it was my mom, Noel! "

"Serena, you need to calm down, " He started to walk across the bedroom towards me.

"Don't tell me to calm down, I wouldn't have had to go in there if had just told me," I yelled. how could he be so insensitive and untrusting?

"I know, I'm sorry." He sounded sincere, "it was a mistake, I know that now."

I sighed and took a deep breath through my nose, closing my eyes and focusing on calming down, letting the breast out of my mouth. I managed to push my wolf down just enough to maintain a level mind.

"Can you just go," I said through clenched teeth, "I want to be alone."

"I don't want you to be alone."

"Please Noel, go."

He let out a small breath of air and when to say something but, said nothing, turned on his heels and left.

I let out a frustrated groan and flopped down into my bed.

Apparently, my whole bloodline of female wolves have been moon goddess and now I really am the only one left. Hunters have been around for centuries, typically only mundane ones but, now there were egotistical wolves too and Noel didn't feel the need to tell me any of this.

I got a backpack and shoved some clothes into it, I knew Noel wouldn't let me go on a run alone, so I wasn't going to tell him. I know he just wanted to keep me safe, but at this moment I really didn't care.

I made my way to the window in my room and opened it quietly and just wide enough for me to slip out. We were on the second floor and it was quite a way down.

I secured the pack of clothes on my back and braced myself for the fall. I pushed my body forward and my instincts kicked in and I landed gracefully rolling to a stop. Okay, that was new. I guess I also never really tried to jump from a building on purpose before.

I ran into the woods making sure no one saw me and shifted into my wolf. My muscles relaxed and my mind cleared as I ran. I made it to the small pond where I went after the car crash with my mom and remembered when Noel's dad was hunting me. I thought he was the real evil back then, but now I'm not so sure, all along I thought it was him that did this, oh how I was so very wrong.

I went behind a tree and shifted, slipping on a pair of shorts and a tank top.

My legs were stiff as I walked over to the tiny sandy part in front of the pond. I sighed as I sat down and hung my legs over the edge of the sand into the cold water. It froze and burned at first but, got nice once I was used to it.

I still couldn't comprehend that my mom was gone, not only that but, that she didn't tell me about our family and what I was. there was no point in being angry at her now, she was gone.

A single tear rolled down my cheek but, I quickly brushed it away when I heard a branch break behind me.

My head snapped up and I looked into the forest behind me. It was farther away. I now had some control over my senses and could tell where the noise was coming from.

I shrugged it off and looked back at my feet swinging in abnormally blue water. It was pretty though.

I heard another snap of a branch this time closer, this time I pulled my legs out of the water ready to retreat or attack.
