I waited on the living room couch for what seemed like hours. No one was waking up. So naturally, I decided to go for a run to pass time.

Normally I would run in my wolf form, but today I felt like just a regular mundane run.

I quickly slipped upstairs and grabbed a pair of black leggings with mesh slits on the calves and a dark blue sports bra. I tried not to make any noise but not like it really mattered, Noel was a heavy sleeper.

I pulled them on and then went out the back door, throwing my hair into a messy ponytail. Then I disappeared into the woods.

I used to run all the time in my old pack. It was my way of getting away from my life there. Or as people would say "running away from your problems" but I was okay with that.

The cool wind rushed at my face, at first making it hard to breathe but, then I got used to it. It was refreshing and made me feel alive.

Werewolves who run in their mundane forms run 5× faster than any other normal humans.

I made my way to the little clearing with the pond. This was where Noel's dad tried to hurt me and also where Robert attacked me. Was a place of many terrors.

You think I would be scared to go out alone because so many people wanted me dead. But I wasn't scared. Not anymore.

I'm a moon goddess, my fighting power is more than enough to take down anyone who tries to kill me.

I knew that Noel would be upset if he found out that I was out here alone. But, I was over trying to please everyone I was doing what was good for me now.

I sat down beside the pond and dipped my feet in. It was cold but refreshing I swirled my feet around making figure 8s. I was watching my feet moved in and out of the water and I noticed a strange reflection in the pond. I stopped moving my feet and strained my eyes toward the reflection.

It was directly in front of me but on the other side of the pond. It looked mangled, and I couldn't tell where it was coming from because of the dense brush that was covering that side of the pond.

"Hello?" I said. I said it quietly but loud enough that whoever was around me could hear.

I heard a slight moan. A moan of pain and I jumped out of the pond water splashing all over my clothes but I didn't care. This person sounded like they were really hurt.

"Where are you?" I yelled out louder now.

I heard another moan in the direction to my right and started running toward it and to the back of the pond.

I gasped at what I saw.

A boy was laying on the ground. Clothes were ripped to shreds and his body was covered in mud and dried blood. So much that I couldn't even make out his facial features.

I bet down beside the boy, "what happened?!"

"Serena is that you?" He groaned out turning his head toward me.

How did this boy know me? His voice seemed familiar but I couldn't pinpoint it.

"Yes I'm Serena," I said eerily, " who are you? Who did this?"

"It's me..." he paused as if to catch his breath, " Adam" and then I watched as his eyes rolled back in his head and his body went limp.

I quickly picked him and with the extra strength of my wolf, it was easy. I started to run back to the house.

My mind was going wild trying to figure out if I knew a boy named Adam. I couldn't for the life of me figure out who he was.

"Adam?" I whispered...
