(Brandon's version)
air...I needed air.. I broke away from the kiss, leaning my forehead against April's in bliss. The hooting around us that I hadn't even noticed, faded back in as we drifted back to reality. April's blue-green eyes were slightly dazed, so I kept hold of her in case she fell back. The day's excitement must have really worn her out.
"I think you need to take her home, Brandon," Am suggested in concern. "She's really tired."
"April?" I called hesitantly. Her eyes re focused slowly, a fully fledged grin forming on her face.
"The last time you kissed me like that..the dinner with your parents," April whispered. I smiled at the memory, curiously aware of the sudden silence.
"Yeah, I couldn't help myself," I told her. "You were like a dream when you descended those stairs. I had to remind myself it was real." Conscious of the people in the room, I turned to glare at them to leave but they were gaping at April as if she was some sort of alien. I glanced back at April who was smiling up at me expectantly.
"Then you let my mom drive your car, to take us home," she continued. "Remember?"
"Yes..." I replied not sure at what she was getting at.
"I asked you to be my girlfriend and we dated..." I froze when realization finally hit me like a tonne of bricks. "YOU REMEMBER!" April grinned.
"Boy, did I pick a slow one," she teased earning a growl from me.
"When...when..when.."
"Did the amnesia break?" April finished gently. Everyone in the room were still staring at her, jaws on the floor. "Just now."
"The kiss?" I asked, my mind still boggled.
"Yes," she replied. Her face was flushed while I just stood there in shock. She remembersMichelle started squealing suddenly and shoving me out of the way, tackled April to the ground. Am and Mariah followed suite, while I just stood their staring. Dave came around to give a friendly punch on my shoulder.
"You brought back her memories," he grinned. "Like that princess and the duck."
"Duck?" I asked. Dave looked taken aback.
"Yea, you know," he waved his arms around. "She kissed the duck and it turns into the prince or something." I stared at him.
"Seriously?"
"Yea, I tell Lily the story loads of times," he replied, burying his hands in his pockets, turning to watch the squealing girls.
"Well you better make a revised version," I laughed at his idiocy. "She kissed a frog. He turned into a prince," I explained. "Plus, April didn't turn into a prince."
"Whatever," Dave shrugged. "Hey April! Don't I get a hug?"
"Can you guys keep it down!" Kenny's voice interrupted, his head emerging from the stairs. A large bump was visible on his forehead, which made me swallow guiltily. This was all for me. Kira wanted me and April and her family had to suffer for it. She better pray that we never cross paths again.
"Kenny!" April chirped, running to her brother to hug him. He embraced her back, smiling.
"I'm alright, sis," he assured. "I put up a good fight too." I smiled at the pair, standing afar so as not to intrude. That also meant ignoring Dave's suggestive looks and eye-brow raising. April whispered something in Kenny's ears and his eyes widened before he embraced her again.
"NO WAAY!" he yelled before pulling her along with him down the stairs. "Mom! You won't believe this!"
"Dude!" Dave glared at me.
