April's version
Ukulele music was playing from somewhere in the background. I was on a beautiful sandy beach with a pair of swaying coconut trees, a hammock tied between them. There were other people on the beach as well, all around me, enjoying the sand and sea. I raised an eyebrow at a familiar man, lounging on the sand comfortably, fish pole in hand. Strange that he was fishing...on the shore. He was the more peculiar one from everyone, wearing a long robe-like attire, a mass of white hair atop his head, half-moon specs leaning on his nose and blue eyes twinkling up at her. She knew who he was. He was from the novel about the boy who lived. A wizard. He was the principle of the school, the headmaster.
"Hello," he greeted when I neared him. I didn't even blink at the English accent. I expected as much.
"Where am I?" I asked.
"Where are you?" he asked me evenly, reeling in something. I watched as the hook ascended out of the water with a pair of dark trousers. "You are...in your memories." I quirked an eyebrow at his response.
"No wonder I have amnesia...no one sane could remember any of this," I told him, watching him cast the line out again. "You're fishing for clothes."
"Yes, I am," he answered. "Just like how you're fishing for your memories."
"Right."
"Excuse me," a young girl gently shoved me aside. She had lovely blue-green eyes but I couldn't see her hair. It was hidden under her veil. A nun's veil. She was a nun. I blinked. A nun about the age of seven? She smiled kindly at Dumbledore as she walked by with a little bag.
"Wait!" I called. "Excuse me," Skipping over Dumbledore I hurried to the little girl. "Wait!" She paused and glanced at me curiously. "You're a nun?" I asked.
"No, silly!" She rolled her eyes. "It's Halloween. I'm dressed as a nun."
"Where are you parents?" I asked. She was about to answer, but a soprano voice cut her off. Startled, I watched a woman who I recognized as my mother, dressed in what looked like a gown from the 1600's at least. I almost laughed at a picture she had embedded on the front of the ground. It looked whacky. I knew that picture. It was William Shakespeare, obviously.
you are...in your memories I blinked at the echoe of Dumbledore's voice and turn to find him. However, he was gone. No fishing pole or clothes or anything. It was like, he was never there. I glanced at my mom and her shakespeare gown. She was a literature and drama teacher, I was told. I realized that the dumbledore man was right. These were my memories. I just had to figure it out. The nun girl was talking to someone else. I grimaced when I realized who he was. What was he doing here? He smiled at the nun kindly and gave her some sweets.
"April!" someone called. I turned to the voice but no one else was about. "April!" There was a dull sound around me, like thunder. "April!"
I snapped up out of bed, panting in panick before I realized that I was in the hospital again.
"April," Mom was there, hovering above me forwning. "Honey, the release forms are signed. We can go home." Shaking away the remnants of the dream, I nodded, getting of the bed in what I hoped was composure. "It looked like you were having a bad dream."
"It wasn't bad," I assured her. "It was...interesting."
"Oh?"
"You were in it,Dumbledore and a nun," I told her. I watched her expression turn hopeful so I continued. "I was in an island and Dumbledore was searching for his clothes..."
"Hawaii?" mom asked. I thought back to the dream and it's tropical setting.
"I'm pretty sure it was somewhere Pacific. It could be Hawaii," I agreed. "He said it was my memories and I had to figure it out."
