My Mistake

Silence. That's what I was greeted with. Complete, utter silence. My mom stared at me.

"Can you repeat that?" she asked me finally.

"I'm pregnant," I said slowly waiting for her reply.

"Who?" She asked me, for some reason she was totally calm and to tell you the truth it kinda scared me more than her yelling and screaming at me about my stupidity.

"Luke." I finally answered. She pinched the bridge of her nose she does that a lot when she is stressed. Usually it was about work but now it was me causing her the stress.

"Mom I'm really sorry." I finally spoke up, hanging my head in shame. She still sat there staring at me.

"Nikki, please go to your room I need get my mind wrapped around this." She sounded really distance. I didn't want to upset her any more then I already had so I got up out of my chair and walked out leaving her at the table.

"Nikki what's going on?" I looked over to see my sister staring at me in confusion. I took in a deep breath she was my sister she needed to know.

"I'm pregnant." I answered, waiting for her response. Her eyes widened in shock at the news. I braced myself for 1000 questions but Ally just walked up to me and hugged me. I hugged her back.

"It's gonna be ok." I whispered. To be truthful I'm not sure if I was trying to convince her or myself.

The next day I woke up to Ally walking around in her room probably trying to find her iPod, she's always losing it. I got up and walked to the bathroom and looked in the mirror at my stomach. It was still very flat but soon enough I would be a freaking hippopotamus, what fun (note the sarcasm.) I walked out of the bathroom and into the kitchen. That's when I saw a note.

Nikki, I got a work call

I'll have to be in New York

for awhile.

Of course mom was gonna run away from this by burying herself in her work. I let out a sigh of anger. My week couldn't get any worse. Thats when I heard a knock at the door. I went to answer it but when I opened the door I slammed it shut in the face of the person on the other side.

"What the hell?" I whispered to myself. Scratch what I just said my week just got ten times worse
