My Mistake

So there we were, Ally, my dad, Julie, and I all sitting in one room, at the same time. If this wasn't awkward then I honestly don't know what is. I mean think about it, here I was sitting with the man who left, and the women he left with, and no one was saying anything. Oh and then add in the fact that I'm pregnant and you get the most horrible family reunion you could possibly get. I don't know how long we sat there before Ally broke the silence.

"Soo... how long 'til you guys leave?" I kid you not, that is exactly what she said. Dad looked horrified, Julie was wearing one of those 'this is really awkward, but I'm gonna stay out of it' smiles. I just laughed at how upright she was about it.

"Ally that's rude." I said, putting my straight face back on.

'"But it's a serious question," she told me, she looked over at my dad, "so when are you leaving?" His face was a bright pink, you could tell he was trying his hardest to compose himself before he killed something.

"Honey calm down." Julie said.

"Oh great now she speaks." Ally grumbled to herself.

"Be nice." I whispered to her. She looked at me and gave me an 'I don't think I can' look. I just glared right back at her. She sighed and turned back to dad and Julie.

"I am ever so sorry for being rude." She mumbled sarcasticly and slumped back into her chair. My dad looked downright furious, then he had the nerve to look over at me and ask for help.

"That's gonna be the best you're gonna get from her, after all I am her sister." I told him truthfully he just glared at me. Ally still looked incredibly annoyed.  Julie finally then speaks up, probably feeling to awkward for her own good.

"We'll be here until Nikki has her baby." She answered to the question that had started the whole disagreement.

"So basically I'm being punished for Nikki getting knocked up?!" Ally snapped.

"ALLY!!" Both me and my dad shouted. She seemed to notice what she had said because she quickly turned red, and put her head down in shame. Julie looked like she felt very awkward.

"I'm done arguing," I finally said, I turned to Ally, "they're here now there is nothing we can do." She let out a defeated sigh. I turned to dad and Julie, "you can stay in the guest room while you're here." Julie gave me a nod to thank me.

"Now that thats done I'm going to bed." I announced, sitting up from my chair and headed towards the door.

"Nikki we still have stuff to talk about!" My dad tried to say as I walked further and further away from them.

"Later," I told him, not bothering to look back at him. Ally was quick to jump out of her seat and scurry after me.

"Nikki I didn't mean to-" she started.

"You've already said it Ally it doesn't matter." I answered in a monotone voice, I then kept walking trying not to think.

...

I hid out in my room fuming about the comment Ally had made. I laid on my bed trying to think if going through with this baby was really worth all the drama, my thoughts were interrupted by a knocking at my door. Thinking it was Ally coming to apologize I told her to come in but it was actually Julie, I tried to give her a half smile showing her I wasn't completely against her.

"Hi," I said as she stood awkwardly at the door shuffling from foot to foot, "listen I'm really sorry about Ally she's just-" I started to say.

"No it's fine I understand where she was coming from, I really did screw up your guys lives." She sighed in defeat, I nodded in agreement. She then continued to speak, "I'm really sorry for making this so awkward I honestly didn't really think of the consequences." She spoke again as I wasn't speaking.

"You didn't think there would be a problem with coming to the house of a family you basically broke?" I asked her, sorta annoyed with what she had just said, but her face broke and my resolve broke,"I'm sorry that was out of line this is all just really weird and I don't really know how to be reacting to this." I finally said.

"It's okay I understand how shitty this must be for you, with the baby and your mom not being home and everything," I simply nodded in agreement at her statement, she finally decided to stop standing at my door and came in and sat on the edge of my bed, I sat up next to her, "is it okay if I ask what you want to do with your child?" She asked.

I sighed, and put my head in my hands and trying to think, "I don't know, I'm to young to have a baby I couldn't handle it," I told her, she nodded in agreement, "but I also don't want to abort it, I just couldn't." I confined to her as I kept thinking about it, then I made my decision, "I think I'm going to put it up for adoption." It was kind of weird saying that out loud put it felt like a weight had been taken off my shoulders.

"I know this probably weird coming from me of all people but if you ever need anything or like want to talk or something, I wouldn't be against the idea," Julie said, sounding kind of nervous as the words came out of her mouth, I smiled and looked over at her.

"Thank you," I thanked her gratefully, "you know you're not to bad a person." I finally decided. She laughed and thanked me for saying that to her.

"Well your dad is probably looking for me," she said and got up and walked to the door before she got to the door I stopped her, "Julie," she turned back to me, "yeah?" She asked. "Ally isn't usually that rude, she's just still really hurt about what happened,we all are actually,  you just need to give her some time, she'll come around." She smiled and nodded her head to show her understanding then walked out of my room.

Soooooo.... It's been a while since I updated this story, a year actually I wonder if any of you are actually still reading this story. If you are I'm really sorry that I made you wait a year for a new update, I've been so focused on my other story (which I also need to update) that I kind of let this one get pushed to the side but I'm going to try to balance it out and not leave anyone still reading this hanging for a year. Anyway I hope you enjoyed this chapter and I'll write the next one as soon as I can and it won't take a year again, I promise. Bye!! :)
