My Mistake

"Candace?!" I almost spat out in anger, and I wasn't the only one who was upset with these arrangements. Luke seemed just as upset that his ex-girlfriend and current girlfriend got to work together.

"Yes, Nikki is that a problem?" the teacher asked me looking just as confused as Candace. As much as I wanted to say 'YES THIS IS A PROBLEM!' I didn't, knowing my luck I most likely would've gotten into a heap of trouble so I just shook my head.

"No problem hear Mrs. Mcdougal." (A/N. I know stupid name but I couldn't think of one and I was looking at one of my textbooks.) I answered with a smile. She nodded her head.

"Good." She said and went on talking about the project, which honestly I wasn't paying much attention to. I looked up at the clock and watched until it would release me from class. Finally after 45 agonizingly long minutes it was time for the next class. Audrey met me in the front and we started walking.

"Well this sucks!" She groaned breaking the silence.

"I agree, I can't believe I got stuck with the new girlfriend." I muttered bitterly.

"I can't believe he's already dating again what kind of freaking jerk would do that?" Audrey said looking livid. I shrugged not really knowing, I couldn't really believe it either, he lost two girlfriends recently.

"I guess he was just in the relationship for the sex." I finally answered sadly.

"Nikki it's going to be ok." She said sympathetically. "Speaking of which, what did your mom say about you-know-what. I huffed in anger at the mention of my mom. I was about to tell her when the bell rang.

"I've gotta get to my next class I'll tell you after school." I said over my shoulder already on my way to the next class.

"I'm holding you to that!" I heard her holler. I laughed and continued to walk away.

My next class was science with I shared with Luke. I use to sit next to him but of course when I walk in it is already occupied by that slut. I sighed inwardly then realized to my horror that the only seat left was next to Carter Forester. The one and only "bad ass" of the school. I muttered a bunch of curse words before I dropped into the seat next to him. He raised his eyebrow at me questioningly. He then turned to Luke's table, I crossed my arms and looked straight ahead. I could see his smirk.

"Trouble in paradise?" He asked with that stupid smug look on his stupid face. I glared at him.

"I don't think that's any of your business." I spat at him. He scoffed,

"Just asking," he still had that god damn smirk.

"Leave me alone Carter." I gritted out.

"Hey, you're the one who sat next to me." He answered. I was about to answer when the teacher walked in. I let out a long breath trying to control the pent up anger inside of me. During class we had a discussion about atoms or whatever and I had a chance to think without being interrupted by work-obsessed moms, long lost dads, or stupid ex-boyfriends and their new girlfriends. By the end of class I had sorted out my thoughts, and by the end if school I knew finally made the decision to keep the baby, I felt it was my obligation, and honestly I don't think I could trust anyone else with it. When the final bell rang I met up with Audrey who looked incredibly impatient.

"So are you finally gonna tell me what happened?!" She demanded. I rolled my eyes and started talking.

"Well my mother does what she usually does when she is to much of a baby to handle things and flew off on another job for work," I said angrily,

"and guess who she decided to get to babysit us!" I said oozing with sarcasm. She shrugged. "My dad!" I spat out. Her eyes widened and her her mouth opened wider than I thought was humanely possible.

"You're kidding!" She exclaimed. I shook my head looking straight ahead as we started to walk towards my car.

"What the heck is wrong with that women?!" She practically shouted.

"Keep your voice down." I pleaded looking around to make sure no one else around.

"Sorry." She whispered to me.

"Well, it's time to go and see my dad again. Wish me luck." I groaned as I climbed into my car.

"Good luck." She answered, still looking infuriated.

"See you tomorrow." I said and drove off, never in my life had I been more upset to go home.
