I kept my hands to myself as I walked along the streets. "Jeff, where are we off to?"
I had to ask, the curiosity was eating at me. "Just on an adventure, don't worry." He ruffled my hair like one would a child. It only made me smile.
Jeff's jacket was soaked from the rain, so was mine- though the cloth of his sucked it up like a sponge. We kept walking, he tensed whenever a human would pass his side or shoot him a wink.
I knew it must've been hard for him.
Touching me, talking to me, managing me. My Being half human must make his life miserable.
I tucked my head into his jacket as walked following his lead. Me and Jeff had pretty much a father- daughter relationship. God forbid I ever called him Daddy.
Laughter was practically begging on his hands and knees to tag along (which I'm sure he is secretly doing). I felt sick to my stomach making him disappointed.
Suddenly we crossed a small path through the woods and made it to another street. A part of Virginia I've never been to.
Then, Jeff abruptly stopped and completely tensed. "Congratulations. We've reached our destination." I knew he was grinning.
The building wasn't exactly brand new, and it was creepy as hell.
Then, I read the sign.
"LAKEBED MENTAL FACILITY"
He led me inside and ignored the desks. The lady didn't seem to mind. Jeff and I ventured hallway to hallway, peaking into door after door.
Until finally, we found 417. He pulled out something- maybe a bobby pin- and fiddled with the slot until the door opened. There lay a grown man- maybe fifty or late forties. He had a brown small beard and a big bushy mustache. He was obviously handsome when he was younger.
"Long time, no see." Jeff pulled off his hood.
The man stared up at him and backed into a corner. "Freak! Freak!"
I felt a small punch of hurt, and maybe a little regret for following Jeff here.
"Kitten- your grandfather."
(Yup. Jeff, you said it. LONG TIME NO SEE MY LOVELY FANS!!'
JEFF: I did?
Me: Shut up. Go make out with Ben or some crazy shit like that.
Jeff: NOT COOL.
Ben: hehe...)
