Chapter 13

Steve's Pov

I went sneaking through the hallways to see if I could find Kendall. I checked my watch to see that it was 8 am, maybe I should head back. As I walked out of the door and saw the bright light a gun pointed at my face.

"Don't move," a French man said, it was the dictator, "What are you doing? "

"uh, "I said as I squinted my eyes, "looking for a friend" I smiled, my smile usually makes people happier, but the dictator just frowned.

"Get up, " he said, I got up, "now who are you looking for? "

"Um her name is Kendall" I replied.

"My precious jewel, Kendall? The one that I adore for her unique ability to absorb energy? "

"Absorb energy ? " I asked in reply, "like a mutant?"

"Yes, she's perfect for MY experiment" he said cocking his gun, and a gunshot was heard.

Kendall's Pov

Clint and friends decided to drag me to a special place, this morning, we ended up on a farm, a very nice place with a family ring to it. When we walked in Clint yelled, "Honey? " and out a came a 5'6 woman along with 2 kids. Of course everyone else greeted her as Laura but I didn't know her. "It's nice to see all of you," she said, she turned to me, "and who are you? "

"This is Kendall, Fury's daughter" Clint explained as I shook her hand. "Fury has a daughter? " She exclaimed, "Come Kendall, tell me all about yourself"

"That may not be a good idea" Tony laughed, "this b*tch is crazy"

"Not in front of the kids" Clint said. I laughed, I loved children.

Tony: OK well I'm gonna take a look at that tractor of yours

Laura: Clint, Kendall can I talk to you in the kitchen? Kids, go play outside.

(Laura, Kendall, and Clint go to the kitchen where you can see the kids playing)

Laura: What did Tony mean?

Kendall: I um

Clint: She wasn't all ways nice

Laura: So OK, Clint, where's Steve?

Clint: Back at the Tower probably

Laura: What brings you back?

Clint: A brief visit

(Laura walks away, Kendall and Clint are looking at the children)

Kendall: I love children

Clint: You love children? Why?

Kendall: A childhood is something I never had

Clint: Right you were tortured

(Kendall turns to Clint scoffs and walks away)

[Later at the Stark Tower, everyone sits worried in the living room]

(Bruce enters with gloves covered in red stains, blood)

Bruce: Natasha, Kendall, he's asking for you.

(Natasha and Kendall walk hand in hand to the room)

Kendall: Steve?

(Steve lies in the bed, with blood and sweat all over him, he's breathing heavy)

Steve: Come in

(Natasha and Kendall walk over to Steve's bed)

Natasha: What happened?

Steve: I got shot and hit

Natasha :By who?

Steve: The dictator and some of his friends

Bruce: He's on a very high painkillers, I have to begin again, Kendall could you stay? Natasha I need you next to Steve.

(Kendall and Bruce walk over to the supplies closet and he gets supplies)

Kendall: What?

Bruce: Your powers

Kendall: Do you need me to blow something up?

Bruce: No Kendall, your tesseract does amazing things under the right control, you can revive still correct?

Kendall: yah but that takes a lot of concentration

Bruce: You did it for Nick

Kendall: Because I was scaring you guys

Bruce : You did a good job

Kendall: I know

Bruce: Well I'm gonna need you to concentrate Kendall, because our lovely Captain America, Steve is on the verge of dying.

Kendall: What?

Bruce: There's an internal bleeding from his leg which is causing his leg to go numb and him to go lightheaded I've tried to stop the bleeding but that got me nowhere.

Kendall: I'll try, are you gonna wait him out, you know till he dies

Bruce : No but I will let everyone say Bye to him before he does, but I will not tell them he may die

Kendall: Ok

(Bruce goes and gets everyone and people say "good luck with the 'surgery' " Even though this may be there last goodbye)
