Chapter 13

•| Breaunna's POV |•

We finally arrived back at the house just in time for Elle to open up her gifts. We walked Into the house and headed to the backyard where everyone else was. As soon as I open the slide door there was Jacob standing looking pissed.

Jacob: Hey Mama Cindy let me talk to Bre for just a moment.

She nodded her head as she walked out to the backyard. He grabbed my arm and walked me into the hallway.

Bre: Let me go! (Yanking from him)
Jacob: Where the hell did you go? Briellè was up here crying asking for you and you up and leave without telling anyone! (He semi-yelled at me)
Bre: I told bahja to tell you I was going to leave for a little bit. But apparently she doesn't know how to give out proper messages anymore.
Jacob: Where did you go?
Bre: You have some damn nerve to ask me where I've been when you up and left our daughter and I ! Nigga get the fuck out of here with that bs. (Making my way to the kitchen )
Jacob: Bre!

I just walked out the door and made my way to Elle. When she finally seen me her eyes had lit up. She ran over to me with the biggest smile on her face. That just warm my heart...

Briellè: Mommy..where were you? (Hugging onto my legs).
Bre: (I pick her up) Mommy had some quick business to take care of. But I'm here now my little princess. (Kisses her forehead) well let's open your gifts baby girl.
Briellè: Yaaaaaay (jumps down running over to the table full if gifts)

I followed behind her and let her start opening gifts. Just to see a smile on her face just brightens up my day. It doesn't matter what I'm going through. She is my bundle of joy and no one can ever take that away from me. Finally she finished opening up her gifts and it was time to eat. We said grace and finally had everyone line up to get there food. I fixed Briellè's plate then put her plate down at her little table with all of her friends. Soon as I started to make my way over to Zonnique my phone rung. It was an private number so I already knew who it was. I just ignored it as I made my way over to her frowning up.

Zonnique: Uh-uh don't make that face! (Laughs)
Bre: Oh hush.. Girl that damn Diggy keeps calling me.
Zonnique: Still?
Bre: Yea, pretty much. I'm so fed up with this Bs.
Zonnique: Honey, dont let him or anything else bother you today. Its briellès birthday and this is all you need to worry about right now.
Bre: I know Nique...But then you got Jacob.
Zonnique: Oh hell... what happened now? (Sips from her drink)
Bre: Well me and Jacob had got into a big argument and he took it waaaay out of proportion. Then he up and left me and Elle.
Zonnique: Uh uh... so where he staying at now?
Bre: His mothers for right now. I just don't feel like dealing with him right now.
Zonnique: I understand honey..completely.
Bre: Girl I just ca...
Zonnique: Um, you have company boo.

As she said that I turned around to look behind me and there was Jacob standing there.

Zonnique: Well, I let you guys talk I'm going to find Ray Ray. (Walking away)

Bre: What's up ( crossing my arms)
Jacob: I know this isn't the right time to be talking about this.
Bre: You're damn right... (Shifting all my weight on my side)
Jacob: I'm sorry for lashing out on you that night. I was wrong for that completely. I'm sorry for not being there for you and Elle like I should. Bre, I just want to put all of this to the side and work this out.
Bre: I'm listening...
Jacob: I'll do whatever it takes...just please forgive me baby.
Bre: Well...(looking into his eyes) I guess I can.
Jacob: (smiles) come here

He gently grabs me by my waist bringing into him and kisses me passionately. Even though I was mad at him I really missed those kisses. Those kisses made me forget all of my problems for those couple of seconds that felt like minutes. I don't care how mad I get at him I will always love this man.

Jacob: I love you Breaunna (Looking into my eyes still holding me by my waist)
Bre: I love you more Jacob (pecks his lips)

Well the party was a lovely success for baby girl. Everything was cleaned up and put back nearly. I looked at the time on the TV box and it was 9:14 P.M. I sat down in the chair and decided to check my phone for a minute then I got a phone call from Mama Cindy.

Bre: Hello
Cindy: Hey baby girl I hope I'm not calling at a wrong time.
Bre: Oh no not at all... Is everything okay?
Cindy Oh everything is fine baby ...I was wondering would you like to come with me tomorrow to see Chres?
Bre: Of course ma... What time are you going?
Cindy: Probably round 10 because I have some errands to do after I see him.
Bre: Okay that's fine...I'll be over there tomorrow.
Cindy: Okay baby...Good Night and kiss Elle for me.
Bre: Good Night and I will do that
Cindy: Okay bye
Bre: Bye

We hung up and my thoughts started racing. Just the thought of the docters wanting to give up on him just kills my soul. Lord I pray that you hear me out this time. Please let him wake up for us... Its just too soon.

•| Next Day |•

I was finishing up my hair and getying ready for my last visit with Chres. It's so bittersweet... I can't believe that this might be the last time I will see him. Smh well only God has the last say so. I made my way downstairs and heading out the door on my way to Mama Cindy's. As I walked over I seen everybody over here even Jacob.

Bre: What are y'all doing here? (Frowning up)
Craig: Mama Cindy told us to all come with her to see Chres since it might.... be...(voice breaks)

Tears had started to form into my eyes as I heard Craig begin to break down. Moments later everyone was crying. This shit hurts my soul to know that I will be losing my best friend and my first love. Even though I'm with Jacob Chresanto August Will always have the key to my heart. The door opened and we all quickly try to fix ourselves up as mama cindy Came outside. I walked up to her and helped her down the steps and helped her to her car. I decided to drive for her. I finally got in the car as everyone else did and we made our way to the hospital. The ride there was just silent. The only thing you would hear was the sound of the engine and and Cars passing by us in the traffic. As we approached the parking lot of the hospital she gently grabbed my hand as I looked over at her she took a deep breath as a tear streamed down her face. I parked the car and wiped her tear away.

Bre: Mama Cindy....Its gonna be okay. (Kisses her cheek)
Cindy: Thank You Breaunna ...Thank you.

We got out the car and made our way into the hospital. She went to the clerks desk to get our passes them we made our way to his room. The closer we got to his room my heart was dropping with every step.

Mama Cindy: Well ...here we are...(tears forming into her eyes) who wants to go first?
Ray Ray: Mama you should go first.
Bahja: Yea, mama you go first...
Mama Cindy: (clears throat) Okay... and I really appreciate you all for coming this means a lot to me and Chresanto.

We all gave her a group hug and kissed ger on the cheek. Then she walks Into the room...as time went by everyone was going in. I was trying to gather my thoughts and pull myself together. Jacob finally came out eyes red and all. Well I was the last one to go so I got up and made my way to the door. I took a deep breath and walked in. There he was again just laying there. He just looks so peaceful ... I got in the bed and laid beside him as tears rolled down my face as I gently grabbed his hand and putting it against my cheek.

Bre: Hey, its me...Breaunna...(sniffs) I missed you...so much. I wish I could hear your voice again. Why do you have to leave us? We need you here baby boy. (Sniffs) I know there is some fight left in you. I know you can do it Chres... Fight for your friends...fight for your family...fight for your mom... And...(voice breaks) fi..fight for...me (kisses his cheek as I broke down) I love you

I stayed laying there by his side for a good minute then I felt my eyes get heavy. Thats when I fell asleep. Next thing I know I heard my name being caller. I slowly opened my eyes and seen Chres staring me down with a slight smile on his face.

Bre: Chres? (I sat up a little in shock with tears forming into my eyes)
Chres: Breaunna, I love you too (rubbing his thumb against my face)
