Nightmare to Midnight Music
Waking up cold and sweaty
Shadows waver in the dark of
The 4 walls in your room, again
Your blankets constrict around you like a snake
Unwilling to release your burning body from its coffin
The night accepts you are awake
And decides to join in your sympathy
Crickets rub their wings like a violin to start the orchestra
The bullfrogs chime in with the bass
Fairies skate on top of the lake like a viola
In harmony with the reeds of grass
It's too hard to sleep with all the noise
You grab your cello to join in the piece
And a start a few notes in major
Then onto minor to show the weariness
The struggle
The difficulty of sleep
When the nightmares roam free
It's infinitely unrelenting
As they tramp through your dreams
Stomping through a pleasant scene
To make it soiled
To turn it into a hoard of your fears
All the good gone, scaring you awake
In the peaceful reality
Music makes it better
Music makes everything good
It pulls the black dark through
The white strands of light and
Pushes it away, throwing it back to
Where it came from
Forever forgetting its harsh melody
As it bashed through your thoughts
Everything back to normal
You may finally sleep again
To sleep in peace is a wonderful thing
It relieves you of the day's troubles
Its plights all wash away as
Unconsciousness takes over
And all that's left to say is
Good night.
Treat Me With Care
Pluck my heartstrings,
Strike a chord worth sacrificing.
Don't play me like any other
Instrument,
Treat me with care.
Never drop me when you raise me up,
But set me down gently.
Being as delicate as a viola
Isn't always easy.
I am as tedious as the placement
Of one's fingers for a flute.
Liven up the crowd with our embrace,
Send sparks flying when we reach
The stage.
When the spotlight shines,
Let us dance.
