CHAPTER FIVE

I know right from the start that Nathan and I will never like Henry's 'new whore'. Guess I was wrong, obviously mistaken. Because I really like her, she's the opposite of a whore. Emily is kind, sweet, caring and has class. Those made me wonder what she has seen in Henry to make her love him.

But... just because he have found an amazing woman right after a trashy one, I still couldn't find it in me to call Henry 'dad'. I still couldn't smile when he talks to me, I still couldn't be what I used to be around him.

And I'm positive Nathan is feeling the same.

"My boy, don't you have a football practice to attend to?" Henry asked, resting his arm over Nathan's shoulder.

I wanted to slap Henry at the back of his head. "It's Sunday." Nathan scowled at him.

Henry didn't even acknowledge Nathan's answer, he turned to me instead. "Cheerleading practice?"

Ugh. Henry is not dumb! He just doesn't pay attention to our lives any longer. Now he's trying to play the dad card, well flash news, he doesn't know anything about us anymore!

I rolled my eyes, not bothering to answer him, I talked to Emily. "Where's Danna, Em?"

I could see Henry glaring at me and Nathan trying to hold back his laughter at the corner of my eyes. "She went to Aubrey's house earlier when you left."

"Aubrey?"

Emily shook her head, smiling. "Her best friend. She's there all the time! She's like a lil teenager! It's already past 6 and she's still there!"

I giggled then asked what I really wanted to, "And Klent?"

I haven't seen him and Danna since Nathan and I got home. After the brownies moment I had with Emily, Nathan and I went to visit mom. Mom... We really didn't get to talk to her. All she did was sing, or twirl around in her own little world. Not even feeling our presence.

"His room." Emily answered then spoke again, "Speaking of which, can you take some meds for him? I think he feels sick." She asked worriedly.

I nodded, a bit eagerly, "Sure sure."

I left the three of them in the living room and took a glass of water from the kitchen; I also got two tablets of Tylenol from the first aid cabinet by the stairs and went up stairs.

I stood in front of Klent's bedroom door, breathing deeply shaking my one foot then the other each second. Why am I being a pussy?

Ugh I'm so stupid already!

I knocked on the door twice and heard him say "Come in", his voice weak.

I turned the door knob and slipped my head through the doorway first. "Hey..." I half-whispered.

He was lying on his back on his four poster bed. The room was designed with a lot of football stuff posters I have nothing to know about. Nevertheless, it looked like a typical teenager jock room. A TV set in front of the bed, a PS3 lying on the floor together with some dirty clothes. A desk placed on the other side of the room and another table for his laptop and iPad. His closet was just beside the door, the door of it ajar.

Klent stood up quickly and begun picking up his clothes, mumbling something like "Sorry for the mess."

I teased as I closed the door, "You should be, you've only been here for one night and look what you have done."
