CHAPTER ELEVEN

"You scared me half to death back there..." Klent whispered as I pull away from our kiss, not too much though. I'm still leaning on him, our nose touching.

I ached at his words. "I'm sorry..." I say, because I don't know what else to utter.

He shook his head and played with my hair softly, "Don't be. I just really care okay?"

"Okay..." I can't help but grin, he knew what 'okay' means to me because he smirked at me.

"You're such a fangirl." Klent teased and I kissed his nose.

"I know I am."

There was a knock on the door and I lied back on my side of the bed. "Come in." I answered. The door opens and Nathan helped himself in.

"Good, you're awake." He smiled warm heartedly.

Klent stood up, bends to kiss me on the forehead, "I'll help mom with dinner."

I nodded as he leaves, already feeling the emptiness caused by his absence. The bed dipped on my side as Nathan sat on it, taking a hold of my hand and looking at me earnestly. "I was weak again today... Couldn't even survive a catfight..." I told him with a humorless laugh.

"You've been taking your medications right?"

"Of course..." I sighed. "It's just that...."

"It's Klent isn't it?" My brother smiled although it doesn't reach his green eyes, his green eyes that's an exact replica of mine.

I nodded, "I like him... I like him Nate..." I think I'm crying because my voice is so hoarse and why am I crying? Do you think I'm crying? No, I'm not crying. Just... almost.

"Hey..." Nathan rubbed my shoulder, "Be problematic about that if you're already in love or something okay?"

I felt a lump in my throat. Thank God Nathan changed the topic before I could think about love and cry. "I'm so proud of you, dummy. Cassie told me everything... and just, thanks. I'm so proud of my little sister..."

I couldn't help but look at him in disgust despite of the seriousness of the moment, "You sound so gay to me right now."

Nathan rolls his eyes and pulls me up softly, "C'mon let's eat and then we'd patch you up."

I stood and felt a bit dizzy as we go downstairs, "Patch me up?" I raised an eyebrow.

"Bruises, scratches, and I think there's dried blood on your scalp." He said nonchalantly and when I look to check my legs and arms, I realized I'm in my pajamas.

"Who changed my clothes?" I asked before we reach the dining room.

Henry answered from behind me, "Unfortunately, it was Emily, not Klent." He smirked and I offered him my usual poker face. "Are you well?"

"Yeah." I answered flatly as the three of us enter the dining room.

Danna was the first to see me; she jumped from her seat at the dining table, "Meggy!"

"Hey you..." I ruffled her hair as Henry and Nathan took their seats.

Emily came to me, "How are you sweetie? I was so worried."
