"What are the chances you'd ever meet someone like that? He wondered. Someone you could love forever, someone who would forever love you back? And what did you do when that person was born half a world away? The math seemed impossible." -Rainbow Rowell, Eleanor & Park

CHAPTER NINE

"What the hell..." Adrian glared. Seriously, why is he glaring?

Kendra scoffed and rolled her eyes, linking her arms with Ian all of a sudden. Really now?

Everyone masked confusion and shock whilst Sasha and Clarisse looked disappointed because c'mon, it's Klent. What I couldn't comprehend was Jeremy, and then I realized... Oh no. Please don't let that be jealousy brewing in him.

I gave Klent a sideway glance and he just scrunched up his nose. I shrugged; guess I'm the one who has to deal with this huh?

"Why are aliens invading my house at the peak of dawn?" I asked normally.

Adrian's glare intensified, "What are you doing trashing around like a skank, Megan?"

I stood up angrily. "Oh I'm sorry brother; I haven't realized I answer to you."

He took angry steps forward, "Yes you do, when you're associating with guys like him!" He pointed at Klent.

I huffed, "Guys like Klent? Like him? You're not even anything compared to him dumbtard." I snapped.

Adrian smirked although I can still see the madness in his brown eyes. "Haven't you heard? I'm the king around these parts and everyone else is peasants."

I rolled my eyes and place one hand on my hips, "In case your green pea brain haven't realized, this is my territory and I'm the queen of this place."

Adrian's smirk got wider and he grabs me by the waist in a seductive manner, pulling me close. "Then we own this kingdom then. How about we make some princes and princesses?" Klent and Jeremy were there in less than a second, pushing him away from me.

"Dude, not cool." Jeremy muttered to him, pulling him with every ounce of strength together with Caleb and Josh. Klent wrapped his hand around my waist protectively, eyeing Adrian with wary eyes whilst Kendra did the same but directed to me. The three other girls fidgeted uncomfortably.

"What do you want Adrian?" I asked with conviction.

He eased a little though I could still see the fury in his eyes that I don't know where the hell is coming from. "Well, we were thinking of hanging out at the lake house. You know, same old sane old."

"It's Sunday." I stated like it would explain everything, "And what 'same old, same old' are you mumbling about? It's not like we even hang out."

"Just get over it and get ready." Kendra snapped and I raised an eyebrow at her.

"I don't wanna go. I can't. I have an.. um..." I was lost for words. How can I possibly tell them that I visit my mom at Radley's every Sunday? It's not that I'm embarrassed with her. I just don't want them to insult her in any way.

Kendra took a step forward, her arms crossed over her chest which may I add, are a few inches from gagging out of her red crop top that's two sizes smaller than her. "Why donut? What do you even do during this day? What is your secret huh?"

Everyone waited for me to say something and I just glared at Kendra. Instead of wrapping his arms around my waist in a protective manner, Klent entwined his fingers with mine. "If you practically insist on pursuing this, we'd have to do it next Saturday." Klent surprised me by speaking up.
