"You're walking along on this path, dazzled by how perfect it is, how great you feel, and then just a few forks in the road and you are lost in a place so bad you never could have imagined it." -Huntley Fitzpatrick, My Life Next Door
CHAPTER FOURTEEN
Three Months Later
"Fuck you, Klent!" I shoved him away as I sat back on my seat, trying to fix my make-up.
He groaned as he ran his hand through his hair, "I'm sorry okay?"
"Sorry?" I scoffed, looking at him through the mirror. "My God, Klent. Can your stupid sorry take you back to our house which is like 20 kilometers from here and get my stupid shoes before the wedding starts in thirty fucking minutes?!"
Klent scowled at me as he sits on the bed behind me. I ignored him for a few seconds until he spoke, "I'm sorry okay?" He repeats. "God Meg. I can't believe you're whining about your heels. It's so stupid."
I flipped my head to face him, "Dude, I'm not wearing a long gown! I'm wearing a knee-length puffy gown! Do you expect me to wear those for that?" I pointed at my sneakers resting on the floor near Klent.
He shrugged. And picked one shoe up, examining it.
I glared, "And what the hell do you think you're doing Mister?"
He smirked and started smelling it. I shrieked in embarrassment and jumped at him, yanking the shoe off as I fell on top of him.
I continue glaring at him despite the fact that I'm lying on top of him on the bed. "You're such an ignorant asshole."
Klent pouted and pinched my nose, "And you're such a whiner!"
"Ow!" I smacked his hand off my nose. "Ugh!" I was about to stand up but when I turned, he yanked me by the waist and I fell on the bed again. This time, he's on top off me, pinning my wrists above my head. "Let me go!"
Klent bit my nose softly and chuckled. I glared even more and started kicking at him, "Klent!!!!!"
And then he kissed me so hard. I fight him off at first but it only took two seconds before I got lost in his lips and his warm hands running down on my arms.
When he pulled away and my eyes are in a daze, he gave me a satisfied smirk. I successfully shoved him away this time and got back to my seat in front of the mirror.
Klent laughed again as I started putting on my make-up furiously. When I completely avoid his existence, he wrapped his arms around my neck from behind and kissed me on top of the head. "I'm sorry okay?"
"Mm."
"Can't you just borrow heels from someone else?"
I sighed, "I tried. Those who have extras don't have the same size as I do Klent."
"I really am sorry. If you want, I could walk bare feet down the aisle if that makes you feel better. Or I could walk there with only my boxers on..." He suggested seriously and I laughed despite my annoyance.
"Thanks for the kind offer but I don't want you to go and embarrass your mom on her own wedding day." I rolled my eyes in amusement. "I'll just wear my sneakers."
Thank goodness it's black and white though, it can almost go with any color.
Klent hugged me tighter, "Really am sorry for forgetting to bring your heels."
