Brian O'Conner pulled up on the road. Hoards of people were all around him. It was always surprised that none of them got ran over by the 10 second cars all around.

He climbed out of his car and almost immediately met eyes with a blonde woman wearing a baseball tee shirt and jeans. She looked almost as out of place as he did. She waved at him.

"You new around here?" Brian called. He was curious. She was showing a lot less skin then any other girl there plus she was on her own. She wasn't hanging on a car or a man.

"No. Just haven't been around in a while." She smiled. "What about you?"

"Been here a couple of months."

"Oh? Liza Maverick." She held out her hand to him.

"Brian O' Conner." He shook it.

"The alpha's second. Tell Dom I say hi." Liza smiled and started away.

"The alpha's...? Hey wait!" Brian saw Liza wave without turning around.

"See ya around O'Conner." She yelled. Brian lost sight of her in the crowd.

"Brian?" Mia found him. "What are you looking at?"

"A woman..." Brian trailed off then realized what exactly he had said. "Not that kind of woman! She was blonde and not someone I would have expected to see here. She called me the alpha's second."

"Right." Mia crossed her arms. "Just remember your mine."

"Of course. I would never forget that." Brain smiled and wrapped his arms around her waist. He kissed her on the forehead. She looked up and kissed him on the lips.

"Yo! O'Conner! You want in the next race?" Somebody yelled.

"Yeah!" Brian yelled back. "You wanna ride shotgun?" He asked Mia.

"No. I'll wait for you at the finish line." Mia kissed him on the cheek. Brain squeezed her hand and got back into his import.

He pulled around to the spray painted start line and managed to park with his front bumper right on the line.

"It's Brian!" Another driver cheered from his neon green supra. Brain smiled. He liked that other people were excited to race him.

"Half a grand each to the winner?" Then host yelled over the crowd and the hum of the cars.

"Sure." Brian called. A deep red 1970 Dodge Charger pulled into the last racing spot. Brian heard a couple cat calls and whistles, but he didn't recognize the car and the windows were tinted.

"Are you ready?!" The woman holding the flag in the air yelled. She stood on six inch wedges, but Brian only had eyes on the flag she held in the air. The moment she dropped it he would be shooting off. His foot itches to press down on the gas.

"Go!" The woman brought the flag down. Brian took off. He quickly left the green supra behind, but the dodge stuck to him like glue.

Brian carefully timed his gear switches. The dodge suddenly jumped forward, and moved in front of Brian.  As the dodge pulled farther ahead Brian was able to get a good look at the vanity license plate. I-DA-HO.

Just like that the race was over and Brain was second. He hit his steering wheel and undid his seat belt.  He got out of his blue and saw Liza Maverick climbing out of the Dodge Charger.

"Nice plates." He called.  Liza smiled at him from over the top of her car.

"Thanks. They're a present from a good friend of mine." Liza collected her money.

"Well if it isn't Liza Maverick." The crowd seemed to part for Dominic  Toretto. He glared slightly at the blonde idahoan. She smiled back.

"Hi Dom. I see you're still a giant teddy bear."

Dominic raised an eyebrow and Brian watched the interaction with curiosity. He never would have guessed that anyone would call Dominic Toretto a teddy bear.

"Liza!" Mia came out of the crowd and Liza got off the side of her car to hug her, "Where's Charlie?"

"She's around here somewhere." Liza glanced at the watchful crowd. She turned to Dominic. "Mind if we discuss business some where else?"

"Not at all. C'mon back to our house."

"Okay. I'll see you there." Liza got into her charger and slowly drove through the surrounding people. The happily parted for her.

Brian went over to Dominic, "Who is she?"

"Liza Maverick." Dominic smiled a little, "She's a street racer from Idaho."

"Is she the woman who talked to you earlier?" Mia asked.

"Yeah, but what's the business part she was talking about." Brian questioned.

"If Liza's in town it means there's a job to do."
