[Guys...guys. the utter pleasure to know that you all actually respond. however, I had to choose between 2 responses finally. One being Dave from a reader, and the other Feferi from one of my best friends. Hahaha...to honestly be fair, I will go with the first response, seeing that is as fair as it gets.
On another note, I learned that my boyfrond possibly read this. >.< and that my one trigger reads this...Mmm not that I would normally care, but these are people I don't allow to read this...so now updating is awkward.
And thank you for reading! ^.^ I constantly keep checking how many likes in total I have, and how many people add this to their reading lists and what etc. and it brightens my day. I'm catching up to the 2nd story when it comes to likes, only being about 60 behind. So I sincerely and utterly mean it when I say thank you.]
Raine's POV
I blinked and rushed up and hugged him, pressing my face into his broad collarbone. "Hey..." I mumbled. He caught me and wrapped his arms around me to steady me. "Woah...hey," he said startled.
I rested there momentarily, before pulling back to see him looking straight ahead, not glancing down. "Something's up..." I frowned, glancing at him. He shrugged and looked down, composing himself. "You aren't from this time are you? You are from farther on in the game..." my eyes slightly widened. I was thrilled I caught that fact in this amount of time, but he smelled different and looked older than what I remembered, which was an easy give away.
"Oh yeah, just by like a year or so..." he shrugged, stepping back, looking away, hands in pockets. "Oh, that's cool I suppose, so we all made it that far huh?" I rubbed my neck, still wondering what was wrong though. "Oh yeah...most of us did," he swallowed, his voice thick with emotion, as his hair fell into his eyes, tucking into his shades.
I pushed his bangs back and he made a little noise, like a gasp. "What is wrong?" I placed a hand on my hip, frowning. "Nothing," he looked at me finally. I was able to see his eyes barely behind his slim glasses, watching me as if I was going to break at any moment. I groaned and got up, walking around the room, looking out the tower to see Feferi below, talking to Sollux. I leaned against the purple wall, with little notes from Sollux drawn over all of my walls, telling me to wake up and so forth. "You are impossible, you know that?" I sighed, looking down.
He took an answer to respond and nodded. "Are we not together or something?" I tilted my head. He pulled his right hand out of his pocket and made them 'kinda-sorta' motion with his hand. I looked back behind me at him, "How?" I asked, confused. "You are de-" I cut him off, "I don't need to know how I died. It sucks that I did, but that is life." I sighed. He remained quiet, unmoving. I decided to lighten it up, "So a year? A lot can happen in a year." I smiled. He opened his mouth to talk but I pushed him down to the bed, straddling him. "No talking," I kissed him, cupping his face. Not saying that I felt right...I honestly felt like I was cheating on my Dave, but apparently, even a year into the future, I left a widower, and he truly did love me.
He didn't refuse, and kissed back, playing with the bottom of my shirt. I shivered but shook my head. "Wrong person,' I tsk tsked him, getting up, smirking.
He groaned and ran a hand through his hair, following me. I ran down the steps and finally collasped at the bottom.
I heard a 'whoosh' noise and looked up. Dave was standing in front of me, hand outstretched to me. "How did yo-godtier," I smacked my forehead, using his arm to get up. I forgot about my former life as a troll, how I had been Phyxia, and already played the game. It is funny though, I would never say it, but in that time line, Dave hated me, I wasn't human, he hadn't grown up with me, but I would never tell him that. In fact...my matesprit, my lover, had been...Sollux. But I don't want to talk about that, Sollux remembers, and we both ignore the past and move on with the future.
"You have to go back..." I said, crossing my arms. He shrugged, "There is nothing left," "Then keep on going, there is nothing left. And when you think that nothing good will ever happen ever again, keep on, because something good will. In the dark, a light will be shown to you-sorry, there I go being all 'deep like a fortune cookie' again." I smiled, joking.
He smiled softly, "Fine, but just because you made me." I nodded and hugged him, "Bye Dave," I sighed. "Bye," and suddenly he was gone. I was left standing in a room alone, before pulling myself together and walking out onto the purple street with little black people roaming around on it.
