A Familiar Stranger [Kung Fu Panda]

The Hooded Figure

It had just turned 2am when Crane and Monkey was about to go meet Viper and Po at the bottom of the stairs to the Jade Palace to switch over night shifts. There had been many attacks by bandits during the middle of the night recently so Shifu had ordered Po and the five to take turns keeping watch for any more bandits.

As Crane and Monkey reached the bottom of the stairs they greeted their friends which Po returned by pointing towards the main entrance of the valley. The four masters watched as a hooded figure entered the small town. The figure continued walking towards at a normal pace but didn't engage any of the masters in a fight. Po was about to call out when the figure turned and knocked on the door of an inn. The door opened and just before entering the figure looked at the four and gave what seemed to be a friendly nod.

Po sighed and the masters excused this person to just be a traveller stopping for the night. As Crane and Monkey began to walk up towards the Jade Palace, Po sarcastically wished them a good nights sleep as he wasn't fond of losing his precious beauty sleep. Monkey laughed to himself as he knew he would have a good chance of winning a bet with Mantis on how many times Po would fall asleep in training the next day while Crane rolled his eyes, knowing what his ape friend was thinking about.

Mrs Hu, the owner of the inn had graciously allowed the hooded traveller to rent a room for a week even if they had arrived in the early hours of the morning.

"Thank you for your kindness." The stranger said. The voice was female. Mrs Hu smiled and returned to bed wondering where she had heard a similar voice before.

When the stranger was finally alone she sighed and looked out the window by the bed where she had a clear view of the Jade Palace.

"I know you're there... Tigress." She said softly with a slight teasing tone hidden somewhere.

Up at the Jade Palace, Shifu waited for Crane and Monkey by the doors.

"Is all well tonight?" He asked as they reached the top of the stairs.

"Yes master." They said in unison.

Crane continued, "Just as we was about to come back we saw a hooded stranger enter the village, it seemed to be just a traveller though as they went into Mrs Hu's inn."

"Who on earth would be travelling this late?" Shifu wondered aloud.

"Whoever it was they didn't seem threatening." Yawned monkey, answering Shifu's thoughts.

Hey, I hope you're liking this, I was bored looking at KFP artwork when this idea suddenly popped into my mind and as I had nothing else to do I figured I would just begin writing on here whatever came into my head at the time. I'm open to advice or ideas since this is my first fanfiction... Ever, so I'm new to this whole thing. But I have read ALOT of stories on here. Just writing this now I'm thinking about how I didn't even check if this idea had already been wrote about. I guess I'll find out if someone comes along shouting that I stole their idea. If you think that I've stole you're idea I promise you I haven't I've just been too lazy to check if it had already been done. Id like to thank iIkweld1021 for being kind of an inspiration to me as well as they wrote my favourite KFP fanfic, The Countdown which I started reading it as someone who hated the TiPo ship but finished the book actually liking the ship a little bit.
