A Familiar Stranger [Kung Fu Panda]

Reunion

In the doorway stood the exact clone to Tigress wearing the same top sent to her but with the colours switched.

"My name is Tora, I guess you can tell who I am." She said just as Tigress would but with a more friendly approach.

Before any of the masters could reply a growl was heard followed by a flash of orange leap toward Tora and pin her down

"WHO ARE YOU AND WHAT DO YOU WANT?" Tigress demanded

"I'm your sister! Twin actually! And I'm also trained in Kung fu so you best get off me!" Tora replied trying to keep her cool.

As Viper and Monkey went to haul Tigress off Tora, all Shifu saw was the person Tigress may have been if she had not been left at The orphanage.

"There are other tigers?!" Po asked.

"Yeah, well a whole country of them really" Tora told him. "In India..."

"Why are all the Tigers in India except Tigress then?" Crane asked suspiciously.

"To protect her... To protect us... You see, twins are forbidden from tigers in India... If we were found out we would have been killed as Cubs." Tora explained.

"Who would do such a horrible thing?" Viper exclaimed.

Tora closed her eyes and took a calming breath before she began her story.

"25 years ago, India was taken over by a new president, a white tiger named Durai. About a month after she had gained leadership of the country she set in a new, awful law... That all tigers should live in India but nowhere else. She believes that tigers are the master race, should not be in the company of other species as we are considered royalty in her mind, except she also believed that white tigers were a priority. Orange tigers are looked down upon and in her master race she only wants white tigers, so in an effort to realise her dream she made it illegal for orange tigers to give birth to twins, or more and only allow a family 1 child, slowly decreasing our numbers. If there was to be more than one child one would be killed but if it was twins, both would be killed. So when we was born our parents panicked... They didn't know what to do so in order to save us both they asked our neighbour, a supply delivery worker to take one of us with him in the early morning to a neighbouring country, they didn't choose, they looked away as he took you. When he returned he told us how he and his wife dropped you off at an orphanage in China. Ever since my parents told me about you I wanted to leave India when I had a chance to come find you... I've been travelling about a year..."

As Tora ended her story all the masters were speechless of what had been happening in India. Tigress stood still, taking in all the information she had just received about her life before being marked as a monster among the children at Bao Gu orphanage.

"That's... Awful..." Shifu slowly said, breaking the silence realising how bad Tigress' life started out.

"We should help free the tigers from being held in India!" Mantis perked up from monkeys shoulder.

Before anyone could add anything to that idea Tigress slowly walked up to Tora with a pained look on her face. As Tigress moved closer to her the others were about to stop her from attacking her again when she embraced her sister in a loving hug, nobody said a word as the two shared that moment and a single tear slid down Tigress' face.

"I think that it would be best that we all got an early night tonight with this shocking news... Tora, you are welcomed to stay with us here for as long as you please" said Shifu slowly walking toward his room to meditate.

"Thank you master Shifu" Tora replied still looking at Tigress.

With that Po and the five, excluding Tigress made their way to their rooms to catch up on sleep they missed from the early rise that morning for training.

As the sisters were left alone in the hall of heroes Tigress asked Tora all her questions about her family wanting to get to know her sister, family, and anything else that popped into her head. Tigress was like a curious excited child.
