Chapter 31
~Karli's POV~

It's the next day and we had one day to pack for the honeymoon, so we were packing today. Oli was packing random stuff that he probably won't need and I was packing stuff, I did need and know that I would need.

As we were packing there was a knock at the door. "I'll get it!" I told Oli as I was walking out of the room. I got to the door and opened it.

My eyes widened, and a tear rolled down my face,"M...Mat?" He looked down and then said,"Hey, sorry. I really did want to come to your wedding but, I had to go deal with the police situation with Nate." I just kept my eyes locked with his.

"You...worried me." I admitted. He put his hands in his jacket pockets. He then suddenly just hugged me, my arms we frozen I couldn't move them, but after a second or two, I hugged him back.

"I didn't mean to hurt you." He said, pushing the hair out of my face. "Mat," I admitted, "Even though I'm married, doesn't mean I can't love you. I do love you, but I can't be with you." I started to cry a little bit. "Can I please." He asked. "Just one last time..." I answered. He kissed me, then he turned around and started to walk off. "Mat!" I yelled and he turned around. "Bye.." I said sadly. He yelled the same thing back and I could just see his head down the whole way.

I went back inside, trying to hold back the tears, but when I got to the room with Oli, I started to ball.

"What's wrong?" He asked me trying to get my head up. "Mat, I'm never going to see him again!" I yelled. "What? Why" he asked me.

"He had to say bye, because he...he loves me and he can't bare to see me with you. He's not mad, he's just sad. I didn't want him to leave." I explained. I was still crying my eyes out,"He was my best friend..."

~Mat's POV~

I feel bad for leaving her like that but I can't stand to see her with Oli. I love her, but I know she's not meant to be with me. I know that for sure. Oli is her soul mate, me, no. I'm out of the picture. I think we're just meant to be friends. I won't ever lose something for her though.

With Nate in jail and Karli safe I'm okay.

*Sirens*
Sirens were going off and I saw a bunch of police. I went up to one and stopped them. "What's going on?" I asked not knowing what was going on.

"Well, a kidnapper escaped from jail today." The police man told me. Oh no! "What is Nathan Sharp?" I asked. The police man looked at me confused. "I was one of the people he kidnapped and I know how he is." I added. The police man nodded, yes.

"I got to go get Karli!" I yelled and I started to run as fast as I could back to her house. I knocked on her door so fast. Oli answered.

"Where's Karli?" I asked out of breath. "She's out back with Koby." He answered confused. "Oh no!" I yelled and run passed Oli and he followed me concerned.

I ran out back and Karli was playing with Koby. "Karli!" I yelled and she lifted her head and came running. "Mat! What are you doing back?" She asked giving me a big hug. "Nate! He escaped from jail, and I think he's coming back for you, or me." I explained to her the best I can.

"What?!" She said letting me go of the hug and staring at me scared and worried. "Mat, Nate?" Oli asked me, and Karli turned around and put her head on his chest and he put his arms around her. "Yeah, I don't know what to do. We might just have to stay inside." I insisted. Oli nodded and Karli looked at me and her eyes explained it all.

"Don't worry Oli, I won't let anything happen to her." I informed, looking at Karli right after. "Nate's not getting to her, I can tell you that!" Oli said angrily.

Karli's phone started to ring. She pulled it or if her pocket and Nate was calling her. "He still has your number?" I asked worriedly. She nodded,"Please answer it." I grabbed her phone out of her hand and said,"Hello?"

"Hello, Mat! I just wanted to tell you, I'm coming for you first then I'll come for her Karli second. You think you are so smart. Oli isn't going to take her and neither are you!" Nate informed.

I hung up the phone and said,"Don't answer his calls." She said ok and then I looked at her and Oli worriedly.
