Promises Kept

Lisa P.O.V
I look at Devin with anger in my eyes and I take a glance at Clayton and he's on the ground still, I'm on my own on this one then.
Devin then came charging at me and I quickly moved out of the way and he went flying forward. He got up and threw a punch at me which hit my right in the jaw and started jabbing at my stomach.
I managed to get a kick in his side which caught him off balanced and I used that opportunity to start punching him. Though he finally was able to grab my arm and he easily brought me to my knees, shit... shit!
I watched as I was about 2 feet away from the ledge and I watched as the wolves were right underneath me basically waiting for me to fall.
I felt a cold object next to my neck and I saw that it was a knife, God is this the end?
"You killed my girlfriend, you took everything from me! NOW IT'S TIME FOR YOUR END!" He shouted and I started shaking, God bless me, I looked at Clayton and he looked so angry but I saw right through that anger and saw a pit of sadness in his eyes, I put my hand up to my neck and I felt my necklace.
I promised my sisters I was gonna win and I didn't plan on lying at all.
"Game over Lisa" Devin spoke evilly to me and he brought his knife back and as it was coming at my neck I quickly put my hands up and grabbed his arm and flicked his wrist up and he dropped the knife, I quickly caught the knife as I elbowed him in the gut and I did a spin and nailed him right in the stomach with the knife.
He just looked at me and I watched as a tear went down his eye, God I even felt bad. We stayed in that position for about a minute before he spoke.
"G...Good W..Win Cimorelli" he managed to get out before his eyes rolled to the back of his head and he pushed himself off the knife and he fell off the cornucopia into the wolves who then continued to rip him to shreds. God, I can't believe I killed him, I thought I was gonna die.
A cannon shot brought me back to my senses and that's when I realized, me and Clayton won. We won! Wait shit, Clayton! I turned around and saw Clayton standing while he was holding his arm but he was smiling at me.
Even though he was bloody I ran right into his arms and we just hugged.
"We did it Lise, we really did it." He said softly and I nodded. Suddenly an announcement came on.
"Yes, it seems that district 12 has finally won the hunger games for the first time ever! But if you truly know the rules you would know there can only be one victor!" He said and my I felt knots in my stomach, the announcer did not just say that.
"Now you must fight to the death!" He spoke up again, no....no... JUST NO! I can't kill him! God I.... I love him, I can't kill him!
"Kill me Lisa, you have much more to live for" Clayton told me but I shook my head.
"No, I'm not gonna kill you" I told him and he sighed and looked down. And that's when an idea sparked in my head.
"Clayton, the berries! We eat them and then they have no winner! Or they stop us and we both win." I told him and he looked at me like I was crazy but then nodded.
I reached into my bag and grabbed a few of the berries and put some in Clayton's hand and some in mine. I looked up at he sky and put the berry up showing the people what it was, God I hope they stop us.
"On 3" Clayton said and I nodded.
"1" I placed the berry bear my mouth.
"2" I looked at Clayton and smiled at him.
"3" I'm gonna miss my sisters so much!
We both places the berries in my mouth when an announcement came on.
"STOP! YOU WILL BOTH WIN, SPIT THEM OUT!" The person screamed and on queue I spit the berries out and started wiping my tongue away as Clayton did the same.
"You alright?" He asked me and I nodded. I looked at his arm and it was bleeding heavily, shit that's a lot of blood.
"Clay, your arm" I said pointing to it and he just placed his other hand over it. I watched as his tanned skin was turning paler by the second. Shit where is the freaking pickup! Suddenly these 2 carriers came out of no where and landed next to us.
I looked back at the spot towards the sky where my sisters were originally, hopefully there still there and I put my hand to my necklace and nodded.
Some of the peacekeepers quickly loaded Clayton up on one carrier and they did the same for me.
As I was on it one of the peacekeepers sat next to me with a needle, the hell is that for?!
"We need to put you to sleep, congratulations on winning" he said and then stuck the needle right in my arm, soon I felt my eyelids droop and I was brought into an endless sleep.
Lauren P.O.V
THEY WON! I jumped in the air as tears fell from my eyes and I watched as Lisa looked in our direction and she put her hand to her necklace and nodded. I looked at Amy and she was smiling like a mad woman, that necklace was really special to Amy and I guess good luck too!
Christina brought us into a group hug and all you heard were the sounds of crying and our slow breathing. That was until Amy broke the silence.
"I told you that she was gonna live! She shouted happily and we all laughed.
"She won guys, she didn't break her promise" Dani piped up and we nodded and pulled apart and we all just hugged each other separately, God I'm so glad Lisa is okay!
I bring Dani and Amy into the biggest hug I could possible muster and we pulled apart and smiled at each other.
I broke apart from them and went into my pocket and pulled out the knife Lisa gave me, I brushed my fingers against the cool blade and I brought it to my chest tight. I can finally give it back to her, thank god!
"You kept your promise Lise" I muttered and looked back at the blade and I saw my reflection until a tear landed on the blade and all you saw was a blur.
Thank you God for keeping my sister alive, I'm truly grateful.
