"Bye then. " she sighed as finished shoving her belongings into the car. The midday sun was pouring on her exposed neck. Taylor stood by the car as her mother hugged farewell to everyone who had turned up. Taylor was seven and moving to a whole new state. California. Taylor bit her lip as she rose onto her tiptoes to try and see her best friend, Emmett. Her mother was exhausted due to packing the car and fighting with Taylor about two hours prior about the move. "It's a wonderful opportunity Tay." Her mother sighed after losing her temper for the billionth time. Taylor cocked her head and raised an eyebrow. She wasn't convinced. Taylor shook her head to get rid of those thoughts. She suddenly caught glimpse of a familiar brown haired boy. She smiled and pushed her way through the busy crowd to find the familiar boy. "Don't run off Taylor!" She heard her mother shout. She ignored her. The boy turned around and smirked. He was at least a head and a half taller than her but she liked it. He pulled her into a huge, bear hug and whispered; "I'll wait by the barn. Like always." Taylor sighed. She was going to miss Emmett so much.

"Taylor!" Her mother called as Taylor walked back to the car. Emmett gave his best friend one final hug before letting her go. Unbeknownst to anyone but he liked Taylor but in a different way. He hoped to see her soon.

Soon the car was driving down the dusty road and everyone was waving and yelling. Emmett raced the car down the road until he couldn't run anymore. Taylor waved and waved and waved until her arm and hand were quite numb. She kept staring out the back window even when they were on the highway. She turned back to face the back if her mother's seat. She sniffed and wiped her eyes. She wasn't fond of crying. All the while her mother had been watching from the mirror. Sighing, she turned on the radio and they were on their way. This will be a new adventure and I shall be the hero thought Taylor and with that, she fell fast asleep.
