Hello again!

So today, (ehem my birthday haha) I'm gonno explain how I judge your covers.

Honestly, I only judge your covers all by myself.

So basically,I'm pushing myself to be fair enough and not to be biased(not even a hint)

So for you to understand well the process I will give the criteria of judging and lending you some tips and advises:)

CRITERIA FOR JUDGING

Relevance of the picture you used - 25%: It is indeed a very important criteria. Why? Because this will serve as the main road of the cover. What I mean is, even without the words and all, the picture should be standing alone, or can stand alone. The theme/requirements that I have gave must be all in your picture/cover. So the picture you used is very powerful. The picture must contain all the requirements given and it connects to the theme, title and quote.

Quote - 5%: So the quote is not really important actually. Some books aren't including quote for their covers. But since this is a cover contest, I'm including the quote, because this is the way I can see how creative you are from connecting everything. So sometimes I'm not having the best quote, but I'm still judging your covers on how the quote was included their, how is it placed and the font you used.

Font - 20%: Some of you will ask, WHY THE HELL FONT HAS THAT LARGE AMOUNT OF PERCENTAGE?! it is because no matter how beautiful the cover is, if the font is not beautiful as the cover was, it's not good looking.  Font gives the dramatic effect or whatever the genre is. You can also judge the book by it's font. It really beautify your works. So learn to use appropriate fonts in your covers:)

Quality of the picture - 25%: Quality, quality, quality. Remember quality is the number one you should be considering in a cover. In searching for picture to use, you should consider the quality. Is it high quality or not? Because no matter how good the girl in the picture is, if it's blurred and crashed, it's not good looking. And also, not the literal quality of the photo, this also includes the picture you have used, your quality of picking a photo to be used in the cover. You should not just picking a broom because it's in the requirements, it's more than that. As you can see, nobody has ever won a place that has a low quality photo. So better find some high quality photos ;)

Editing skills - 15%: Again, some of you might tell WHY THE HECK EDITING HAS ONLY 10%?! THIS SHOULD BE IN 100%! It is because, in some way, I'm not looking for the best in editing, but the creative one. As I go on to joining contests and hosting my own, I realized not all covers must include such fabulous editing. As you can notice in published books, they aren't that sassy, I mean, they aren't that photo-shopped at all. They are just simple. I realized that a cover is not always needed to be photo-shopped or to be edited fully. I stick to simple but elegant ones :) And you know this contest is for everyone, like everyone can win even though they don't have that powers to edit fully.  Although I really like those covers that's edited because I can really see the talent there:)

Over all look - 10%:  Actually, sometimes I disregard this, if your cover has gotten great points at those five criteria. Because at one look, I can determine if it's beautiful or not. I usually consider this one, if i'm having a hard time picking the 1st,2nd and 3rd place. I'm also considering the connection of everything in this one.

Soooooo that's it! I really hope you learn something from those:)

And if you will to ask why I'm not posting the points because honestly, at the previous contests here, I'm not having a criteria at all. I'm just manually choose top 7 and pick the 1st-3rd place, honorable mentions and best in font and quote. So I decided to just continue on not including the points.

But let me know if you want to include the points now in the next contests winners:)

P.S. Thanks for those who greeted me and commented their experience :) I'm so happy to read them! Thanks a lot! You made my birthday extra-happy!
