I had spent that whole time in search of Shane to find answers. That whole time Shane was here suffering from god knows what. I will never forgive myself for that.
"Shane?" Robin croaked she stared at the limp body that hung from the chains in the wall, but it did not stir. "Shane? Please." She sobbed Shane blurring from her vision as tears filled her eyes. Strach! Strach answer me! She shouted in her mind but he neither responded nor acknowledged her voice.
Strach! She shouted again but no whisper or buzzing filled her head. Her mind full of dark secrets and terrible visions but no voice. Robin stared around the room they were in, it was nothing like the room she woke up in that day. And Blaine, a sour taste rolled on her tongue as the thought of him intruded her mind. TRAITOR she snarled. She struggled against her binds fear turning into adrenaline. Strach! Where are you? She yelled in her mind and suddenly the buzzing overpowerd her and she slumped to the ground crying in pain.
"What's the matter Robin? Is it hurting you?" Strach's smooth oily voice whispered in her ear and she winced.
"Stop- Stop it!" She breathed in pain.
"Okay," Strach whispered and the buzzing faded away to a inaudible hum. Robin gritted her teeth and sat back up.
"You took your time." She muttered her reply was a silent chuckle.
"I am sorry Robin."
What do you know about this place? Where are we? How do we get out? Robin asked Strach as her ropes began to come loose. She saw blood seeping out from underneath the rope and swallowed hard before carrying on.
"I'm guessing at the moment you're underground the light source suggests that it is coming from the street which will also explain dampness of the room. To get out I don't know." Strach told her and Robin finally freed herself.
"Is that all? Is that everything you can tell me?" Robin asked aloud her eyes on Shane.
"I'm afraid that is all I can tell you Robin." Strach murmured and Robin smiled.
"In that case," she said closing her eyes and pictured the merger in her mind, "GET. OUT. OF. MY. HEAD!" Robin yelled and imagined the merger being forced out of her mind. She saw a shimmering light emerging from her and forming a shape in the space before her. Robin felt the merger inside her resisting but fought against it eventually the merger was forced completely out of her mind and was laid on the floor shivering.
"How did you know?" Strach asked in shock.
"When we met the merger. You were worried that if he moved in you would have to move out." Robin said shrugging keeping her distance.
"Clever girl." Strach said slowly. He stood and smiled his needle like teeth glistening in the darkness, making them even more dangerous.
"I'll help you get out of here but you have to give me all the details after the accident." Robin said, she watched the merger weigh up his options before he agreed.
"Okay, I found you in your apartment, I sensed a strong source of magic," Robin raised her eyebrow but Strach ignored her, "I came to investigate and saw men carrying you to the elevator you were radiating the magic and my curiousity got the better of me so I decided to merge with you to find out. Turns out I miss-sensed the magic but your mind was puzzling and I saw memories starting to slip away so I stored them and returned them to you slowly so you you didn't burn out." Strach said holding his hands up innocently.
"That's it, nothing as to why Blaine betrayed me?" Robin asked.
"I wasn't their at that time of the attack only afterwards. Don't you think you should be worrying about two people right about now?" Strach offered nodding to Shane.
