"It's time to wake up." The voice murmured in her ear, the sleeping girl started to stir. "Robin. Wake up now!" The voice called distantly. Robin became aware of the cold hard floor underneath her. 'Where am I?' She thought to herself. 'Why does my head hurt?' Robin tried to move but her arms felt like they were bags of sand. "Robin." The voice said again, Robin didn't recognise it and she knew if she didn't start to move she would be in deep trouble.
She focused on opening her eyes, a simple first step to achieve. She felt her face scrunch up and when she saw a slit of light coming through her lashes she wanted to cry out in happiness She opened her eyes fully, blinking as they adjusted. From her position she could see that the room was painted pure white. Robin had no idea what this place was or why she was here. If she was being honest she couldn't remember how this happened.
"Ahh, you're awake." The voice whispered in her ear, Robin jerked away and whimpered. Whoever was talking to her was stood just out of her line of sight.
"Shane? Are you there?" She called out and was hit by sudden deja vu, but she couldn't remember where from. A high pitched giggle rang in her ear. Robin panicked she needed to get out of here. Robin focused on something small wiggling her fingers, relief flowed through her at the small goal and told her she still had her arms and legs. She tried to move her arms they felt numb and wooden but she managed to prop herself up and then push herself all the way so she was sitting up.
The room was bright and there was a small window at the top of the wall she was facing. Robin looked behind her, the room she was in seemed to be a storage room. There was bits of unused or broken cabinets, tables and chairs. Robin looked behind her but there was nothing there but an empty space, she heard a faint buzz in her ear and spun back round but she was the only person in the room. She listened harder to understand the buzz. She finally managed to hear the buzz more clearly and her spine turned to Ice when she realised it wasn't a fuzzy noise you get occasionally in your ears. The buzz was different voices whispering her name, and as soon as she could tell what they were saying the whispers stopped.
Robin decided to kick her brain into action she was in a place she didn't recognise, she woke up there unable to remember anything apart from she had to find Shane. Robin looked around at what she had to use and sucked in a deep breath before pushing herself on to her shaky legs.
There was a desk that she pushed up against the wall with the small window, she started collecting chairs and pushed cabinets across the floor the screeching echoing around the room. She pushed the cabinets and put them onto the desk then placed chairs on top of them. She turned back and became suspicious. 'Where is the door?' She scanned the room there is no door in the room. What type of room doesn't have a door? Robin felt sick, a room which meant the person was not supposed to leave.
Robin whirled back to her makeshift ladder and scrambled up the furniture towards the window.
"What do you think you're doing? You're not going to get out?" The voice mocked Robin froze.
"Where are you?" She hissed out loud but there was no reply. "Who are you?" She snarled which was met with cruel laughter. Robin looked behind her but no one was there. She needed to get out, out to find Shane that's the only thing she can do now. She resumed her scrabbling and reached the window which was propped open. It was a small window so the only way for Robin to escape was to wriggle her way through.
She pushed the window as far as it would go and pulled her self up and started to wriggle through the small gap. She felt the cold air bite at her cheeks as she squirmed out of the window she heard the window clatter as it closed and shivered partly from the cold the other part from fear. She was only in a t-shirt and jeans. She stumbled away from her prison with no idea where she was or where she was heading.
"You're making a terrible mistake." The voice taunted in a whisper, Robin looked back at where she was held captive and shook her head.
"Who are you?" She whispered still stumbling she could see a fence which she could climb easily ahead of her.
"I'm no one, but I know everything about you," the voice said menacingly. "You have no hope of escaping." Robin whimpered as her head began to hurt more from the cold. She reached the fence and climbed over.
"I'm sorry to dissapoint but I'm not sticking around." Robin muttered and jumped to the ground on the other side of the fence. She looked back at the round cylinder shaped building. "And you don't know everything about me." She said out loud before running seraching for a road. If she can find a road she will find a sign which will lead her to a city. And cities have phones, and Shane has a phone.
I wish I was more careful with my escape. And paid attention to what was following me. I wish I had Shane with me.
