*fast forward 2 years*
*Phils Pov*
It's been two years since Dan has been in this coma, Jake is now 3 going on 4 soon.
I sit in this hospital day in day out, the only time I leave is for work or to pick Jake up from school. This is the second time Jake has been to see Dan.
"Pappy when will daddy wake up"
"I don't know little man I hope soon, why don't you talk to daddy the doctor said he can hear u"
I put Jake on the bed and he turns to Dan.
"Daddy it's Jake,please wake up daddy I miss your cuddles and kisses", I start to tear up at jakes words, he then gets up and crawls on Dan,kissing his cheek something he was to scared to do last time he was here.
"Look daddy I drew you a picture it's of me,u and pappy, in the park" he puts it on the table next to Dan and grabs his hand.
"PAPPY,Daddy's squeezing my hand"
Jake screams and I take hold of his other hand,
"Dan, love I'm here if u can hear me squeeze my hand" he squeezes my hand and Jake starts smiling.
"Love can you open your eyes for me please", and like I asked Dan's eyes start to open his eyes blinking a few times to get use to the light.
"Phil?" Dan whispers
"Yes love I'm here"
"DADDY!!" Jake screams and Dan giggles.
"Hey my little man" Dan says, I look at the control panel and press the button to pull the bed up.
"Phil can you pass me some water I'm dying for a drink?" I giggle and pass him the water as he drinks the water I press the button to call the nurse in.a few minutes later she rans in.
"Everything o-, Mr Lester your awake" she says surprised and Dan nods. She runs back out to get the doctors.
"Phil how long have I been out and what happened?"
"You got shot in the head when u left base to quit and you have been out for 2 years, jakes now 3 and will be 4 soon"
Dan looks at Jake and starts to cry,
"Oh Jake I'm sorry I haven't been there for your birthdays"
"It's okay daddy u waking up is the best birthday present ever, I love you daddy"
"I love you too my little man"
I start to cry coz I haven't seen Jake so happy before, these last few years have been hard for me and him I remember the first year I had to tell him that his daddy was still fighting in the war, but when he was 3 I had to tell him the truth cause he kept asking where he was and that uncle mark has come home so why hasn't daddy, the day I told him about Dan was the day he first saw him, I told him it was like the Story sleeping beauty and he smiled, but the first time I brought him he didn't say a word nor did he ask to sit with him he just stared at him and cried but now Dan is awake and Jake is happy and that's all that matters.
