Sydney's POV

I woke up with a killer headache, and I couldn't even do anything. I was that hungover, yes. My hangovers were the shittiest. I would have to take way too may tablets, and stay in bed for the rest of the day. But I couldn't do that, not today. It was a school day and I shouldn't have gone to that party.

The sun creeped its way through my red blinds, giving my eyes a burning sensation. God, it's like I'm a vampire.

Well, Aubrey would've killed me if I hadn't gone to that party. I wonder what my friends were doing. They were probably more hungover than me, they had stayed for longer.

When I got home last night, I had to sit down on the couch and listen to my parents shouting at me for like half an hour. I even saw Alex in the corner of the room, snickering to himself. Asshole. He was enjoying me getting my ass whooped by my parents.

I checked the time and my eyes widened when I read the alarm clock screen. Shit! I only have ten minutes to get to school. Why didn't my mom wake me up? She usually does if I'm late. Dammit. I literally jumped out of bed, and briefly washed my face and brushed my teeth. I threw on whatever clothes I found. I didn't care if I looked like shit. I felt like it anyways. I left my makeup, briefly combed my hair and put it in pony-tail. I checked myself in the mirror, and I didn't look too bad. Okay, my really nice pale blue shirt was creased, but other than that, it was fine. My jeans didn't look bad.

I slipped on some white plimsolls, and threw my phone in my school bag before rushing out of the room. I slipped on my sunglasses to protect my eyes from the burning sun. I checked the time.

Okay, three minutes left.

I grabbed a granola bar from the kitchen counter – I don't know how it got there, but thank god – and grabbed my keys before getting out of the house.

I jumped on my bike, and revved out of the driveway.

Two more minutes.

I can get there in time.

Once I parked my motorbike in the school car park, I ran like there was no tomorrow. I made my way into the school, and I knew which lesson I had first. I opened the door to the biology classroom, and I was panting heavily.

I looked up and everyone's eyes were on me, including the teacher's.

Oh fuck.

I mentally cursed, and shifted uncomfortably.

"Sydney, you're just on time... Take a seat." The teacher raised a brow in suspicion, and I smiled before sitting down on my usual seat.

Cody was in this class, unfortunately. I didn't know how to act around him anymore. Wait, I shouldn't judge him just because I saw him dealing drugs. Who knows why he's doing that? I don't know what's going on, I shouldn't just assume things straight away.

But it would still be hard to talk to him.

I took out my notebook and pen from my bag, and tried to listen to the teacher.

Cody was sitting in front of me, and he turned his head around – the teacher wasn't even looking – and raised a brow at me.

"What's up with you?" Cody took in my face, and it was then that I realised I was still wearing my sunglasses. The stupid sun was still making its way into the classroom, so I left them on.
