Chapter 2

Rachels pov :
"Dear Diary,
Its been a year since my dad left my mom and I and things have stayed the same but they're also different. For example, my mom stopped crying she used to cry all the time after he left but now there's nothing she comes home from work, cooks dinner, talks about her day with me, has a glass of wine while watching the bachelor with me and then goes straight too sleep. I mean it's like she's the same person she was before he left. As for me a lot has changed for example, I'm a junior now which means I only have one year left in this hell hole called Lima , Ohio. As for friends go I'm still in Glee Club and Finn and I are still best friends but the only difference is he has a girlfriend, Quinn Fabray, aka the queen of McKinley High School, and my love life is no love life because A . I'm too focused on my school work for anyone and B.I just don't wanna fall in love . I mean after my dad left it was as if this wall was put around my heart and maybe I'm better off that way. Anyway, it's time for school so I better go.

I put away my diary and left my room to go to pick up my best friend Finn. I pulled up too his house and parked my car and went inside to get him.
"Knock, knock." I said coming in.
"Goodmorning Rachel." Burt , Finns step dad said.
"Goodmorning Mr. Hummel." I said as he handed me the news paper.
"Rachel, you've known me since you were what five ? Its time to call me Burt." He said.
I smirked and said,
"No, it's too weird. Speaking of weird , wheres your goof ball son?" I asked him.
"In the kitchen as always." He said.
I smiled and walked into the kitchen .
"Good morning Rachel." Finns mom Carol said giving me a side hug.
"Good morning Carol." I said.
"How's your mom?" She asked me.
"She's good actually. " I said.
"Good, I know its been a tough year for the both of you." She said.
"It has and thank you guys for being there for us." I said.
"Hey, you're like family. " Finn said .
"There's the birthday boy." I said giving him a hug, "happy birthday Finny." I said.
"Aww thank you Rachie." He said giving me a kiss on the cheek.
"Come on, we should go . See ya later Carol." I said and we left.
