This is my first stucky one-shot, and it will be a post-serum Steve and Winter Soldier Bucky kind of one-shot. This fic takes place post-Avengers but kinda pre-Winter Soldier. It's basically just a story of how Steve first meets the Winter Soldier, and the proceeds to track him down when he finds out the solider is actually Bucky.

"Nat, are you really sure this is a good idea? I mean, you know I'm all about missions, but I don't think this one is really our gig? This guy hasn't shown himself in like, what, five years? Who knows if he's even still out there?" Steve looked at his right, where Natasha stood, cleaning her gun.

The two of them were out on a mission alone, in the middle of the Russian winter. Just a week ago Nat had busted into Steve's room with a file in her hand and a determined but excited look on her face. She had told him that seven years ago she had been attacked by a guy with a metal arm while on a mission. The guy had killed the profesor she was supposed to protect by shooting him straight through her. Since then, she had looked up every single kill the metal arm-dude did, up until five years ago when he seemed to stop. S.H.I.E.LD. refused to tell her what they knew, so she took it upon herself to find all the information on him that S.H.I.E.L.D. got. And, when she finally did, she learned that he was a russian assasin, credded for over thirty kill missions over the last fifty years. She also learned that he never failed a mission, and that he was called The Winter Soldier.

So now when they finally had some free time, she decides that she would drag Steve with her to Russia to take down this master assasin. Her reasons? She held a little bit of a grudge on the guy, one might say.

"You know how long I've been at this one, Steve. I know he's not done. He can't be. He didn't stop for over fifty years, why would he stop now, hm? No. He's still out there. He's just waiting for the right mission. But before he finds it, I'm gonna find him." said Nat, and cracked her knuckles. Steve glanced down at her, and smiled. She was so strong and fierce, he was very proud to be her friend. Even though he knew they weren't nearly as close as her and Clint.

"Come on, let's go." Steve said as the quinjet landed on the cold, frozen ground. They were outside a building where the Winter Soldier had been seen a number of times. They thought that the building maybe was where the soldier was kept. The wind tossled their hair as they made their way into the old concret building, guns ready. They walked through a dark corridor, which led to a big chamber. At first look, the chamber seemed to be empty, but then they realised a door at the other end of the room. But the door weren't closed. It was slightly opened.

"He's here." whispered Nat.

"You sure?"

"Deffinitely." They both looked around the room, when suddenly Steve heard a small noise. It was a tiny, tiny, noise, but he heard it. And he recognised it. The sound of a gun being loaded. He immidiatly put up his shield infront of is face, and he heard the sound of a bullet hitting the vibranium.

"Nat watch out!" he screamed as a storm of bullets were being shot at them. Nat jumped behind a collumn and tried to locate the shooter but Steve already knew. He had heard where the bullets came from, and was now running in that direction. He rounded a corner where he saw a door that was slightly opened. Forgetting everything about being careful, he rushed through the door. And was met by an empty room. Or so he thought. He took one more step into the room, when suddenly something hit him hard in his left shoulder, making him stumble forward, almost falling down on the dirty cement floor. He spun around, and just managed to see a black boot disappearing before it was gone. He threw himself out of the room, and saw a man rushing down the hall. Towards Nat.

"NAT! Watch out! He's coming your way!" He screamed, not thinking about anything else than warning her. He knew that she was the best agent S.H.I.E.L.D. had ever had, but he was still worried. He didn't need to be, though. When he entered the room where he'd left Nat, he found her on top of the guy's shoulder, repeatedly hitting him in the head with her elbows. The fact that the guy was still standing confirmed what Steve had already guessed: this guy with the long brown hair was definitely the Winter Soldier.

Nat locked her legs tighter around the guys neck, and then swung her body sideways, flipping him of his feet. His body hit the floor with a thudd! and Nat immediately rolled up on her feet. The guy turned his head towards her, but the only thing Steve could see was a pair of dark blue eyes: the rest if the face was covered with a black mask. But it was something with those eyes, something familiar.

Nat raised her foot and kicked the soldier straight in the face, and his mask flew across the room, landing in a dirty corner.

Steve's heart stopped. Or, at least it felt like it. His eyes widened and he sucked in a sharp breathe. Because he recognized the face that was behind the mask. Dark blue eyes, sharp jawline, strong chin, and amazing cheekbones. He'd recognize that face anywhere. The man on the floor was Bucky. James Buchanan Barnes. His best friend from the fourties. The same best friend who fell of a train and died. Except, he didn't die, obviously. Because he was there, in front of Steve's eyes. But those eyes looked at him with no recognition at all.

"Bucky?" Steve breathed, trying to process this whole situation. The soldier's eyes narrowed.

"Who the hell is Bucky?" He said with the same voice that Steve remembered, just more...lifeless. Steve's heart broke.

"Steve! What the hell are you doing? Finish him!" It was Nat. She looked at Steve as if she couldn't believe her eyes. Why wasn't Steve doing anything?

"Nat, I...I can't. I just can't. It's him. It's him, Nat, it's Bucky."

"Bucky? As in, your Bucky? The Bucky you've been crying yourself to sleep about?" Steve looked at her. "Sorry, but you also talk in your sleep, so I kinda figured it was him you cried about." Steve just nodded.

"If you two fuckfaces are done, could you get the fuck out of my way? I'm kinda trying to get away very dramatically here." Bucky-whodidn'tthinkhewasbucky said.
Both Steve and Nat looked at him.

"Language" Steve said. Nat chuckled. He continued, "do you remember me? Do you know who I am?" Steve looked at Bucky.

"No. Should I?" He answered, eyeing the door. Nat saw it, and went over to it, blocking it.

"Yeah, you should." Steve said softly, taking a step towards him. That was a bad move. The Winter Soldier quickly pulled out his gun and shot Steve in his right thigh. But before he could even think about reloading the gun, he was hit by one of Nat's special bullets. It was one of those bullets that made you take a trip to unconscious-land. Bucky fell to the floor, completely out of it.

"Nat! Why did you do that?!" Steve shrieked.

"Do what?!"

"Shoot him!"

"Because he shot you! Remember? That's why you're bleeding from your thigh!"

"Okay, fair point, but what are we gonna do now? We can't just leave him here!" Steve motioned towards the unconscious Bucky on the floor.

"I'll tell you what we will do. We will take him to the quinjet, fly him to S.H.I.E.L.D. HQ and lock him into a very, very, secure cell." Explained Nat. Steve looked at her.

"And you promise you won't 'accidentally' kill him?"

Nat sighed. "Yes, Steve, I promise." Steve nodded, 'cause when Nat promised something she usually was lying, but he somehow knew that this time, she would actually hold her promise.

/AN/ there will probably be some kind of continuing to this! Anyway, hope you liked it! Stay tuned for the next part of my collection of one-shots!
