"Do you have a clue for the next key?" Naomi asked the guy whose name the couple learned was Erwin, with E.
Erwin looked down at his phone, "Uh, yeah... oh wait, I know where we should go!"
"What does the clue say?"
Erwin ignored Danny's question, "Follow me."
"Where to?"
The lad stopped abruptly, "Do you know where Fern Bank is?"
"'Course. It's close to where we live." Naomi replied.
"Good. How do we get there?"
"Are you new to Manchester?"
"Yes, how'd you know?"
"We don't really have any tourists in Stalybridge."
"Oh... Well, you could say that I live in Fern Bank."
"Could?" Danny couldn't help but be suspicious of the stranger. "Which number?"
"Uh... Well... I'll have to tell you this sooner or later, but I'm not... Well, I'm not normal, really."
"How so?" Naomi, why are you so interested in this guy? Danny knew he was jealous, but it was impossible to resist. The lad was fairly good looking, and he didn't seem to be a bad guy, how couldn't Danny at least be slightly jealous?
Erwin took a deep breath, "I'm an apprentice."
"Cool, what about it?" Naomi threw Danny a look as to say why're you so sarcastic? Danny couldn't answer to that, sadly.
"I'm not really an ordinary apprentice." Erwin looked around, "It's really hard to explain, but do you believe in magic?"
"Of course not." Danny was quick to reply.
Naomi, not as fast, "I remain neutral until something is proven." Naomi had always been a proud agnostic. Danny and Naomi always respected each other's beliefs and they liked to discuss religions. Though both had a hard time looking from the other's view.
Erwin looked hesitantly at Danny, "M'kay..." He cleared his throat, "Well, uh, I'm kind of an apprentice to a magician."
"And we're to believe that?" Danny scoffed, "Dude, you're bonkers."
"I know you don't believe it until you see it, but it's the complete and absolute truth."
"Seriously? Naomi–"
"Danny, stop being pessimistic, judgmental and jealous."
"Am not!"
"Let's just get to Fern Bank and then judge if what Erwin says is true or not."
"Why not just go home? It's late and I'm tired."
"Danny."
"Yeah, yeah... Okay, then. But then we'll go home."
Erwin looked between the couple, "You sure?"
"Yes, come on." Naomi made the two lads follow her, and they together went to Fern Bank.
