"I told you, they really do have the best ice cream in town!"
The time was around ten in the morning. Naomi and Danny had decided on eating some ice cream before heading home.
"I believed you," Danny defended himself. "How does you lemon sorbet taste?"
"Marvelous. How does your chocolate taste?"
"Fantastic. Want to have a taste?" They tasted each other's ice creams and kissed. It became an incredible mix of lemon, chocolate and Naomi's lips. "Godzilla, I'm tired. I might just fall asleep. Can I lay my head in your lap?"
"Eat up your ice cream, first. My trousers may need a wash, but I don't want any stains."
"Naomi," Danny said with a mouth full of chocolate goodness.
"Yes?"
"I asked Erwin how you say 'I love you' in Hypernean, but they didn't have a word for it."
"Really? How strange."
"No. I told him how strange it was. I mean, you may be a monster but you still want to confess your undying love to someone, yes? So he informed me of what they use instead. Do you want to know?"
"Yes, what is the word?"
"Do you really want to know?"
"Danny. Spit it out."
"Are you 100% sure?"
"Danny, you nugget."
"Nabrii."
"What?"
"Nabrii. It sounds a little like your name, Naomi. Don't you think?"
"I could name my child that."
"Then let's do it."
"Danny. I know we both love each other, but we don't have to plan so far ahead."
"All right, Nabrii."
"I also learned a Hypernean word. Do you want to know?"
"Don't play that game with me."
"Fine, it's sueccu. I asked Erwin which Hypernean word he would best describe you. Do you want to know what it means?"
"Yes."
"He said he believed the word was more of what I would describe you as. He said it translated to 'you little shit'. Hypernean is rather colourful."
"As we already are on the subject. I want to know the colours of our clothes."
"My t-shirt is a light blue. You may see that I have no sign or stuff on it, as usual."
"I really love you for that. It makes me see it clearer."
"I know. My trousers are black and I'm sweating like a donkey."
"It's late spring, you know. You should think more about what kind of clothes you are wearing and the temperature outside."
Naomi pushed Danny, "I know. Anyway, your shirt is green,"
"Your favourite colour."
"It's my favourite colour because it really suits you. Your jeans are blue with a chocolate stain."
"Where?"
"Just kidding."
"Ha-ha-ha."
"Back on track, now though. Why didn't you wish for your colour blindness to go away?"
"Because you said it didn't change who I was. And I would love to see your eyes and hair and skin, but I already see you clearer than any colour can. And I'm in love with you."
"I'm in love with you too, Danny. Nothing will ever change that."
"Reckon it has been a crazy week. We should be in school now."
"Well, we've had some other things going on lately. And frankly, I don't plan on going to school until Monday."
"It's Friday now, isn't it? Do you want to have a sleepover and watch films?"
"Don't you want to write the essays?"
"We could just say we got food poisoned. I don't feel up for school right now, and none of us has ever missed a school day before. Let's just stay home and cuddle."
"Seems perfect."
The finality in the situation was reckoned by Danny, but he embraced it for a change.
