Two days later, Lizzy headed towards town to do some grocery shopping for her mother. The sky was grey and the air was cold. Slowly, dark rain clouds were making their way over to Castle Rock. Lizzy wore a pale green jumper over her white house dress for warmth.

Walking, Lizzy kept going over her mental list of the groceries she needed. Not paying attention, she didn't hear the sound of a car slowing down towards her.
'Hey Lizzy' a voice called from beside her, she didn't even have to think, she knew who it was.
Turning her head, she saw Ace smirking, alone in his car.
'Hi' she replied flatly, continuing to walk.
'Whatcha doin?' He asked, slowly following her in the car.
'Going to get groceries'
'I'll drive you'
'No thanks'
'Why not?'
'Because Ace' She began, stopping walking and turning towards his car. 'I have these things' she said gesturing to her legs, 'and when I move them I'm able walk which allows me to go places by myself'
'Funny' Ace laughed slightly.
'Thanks, I do try' She said, over-exaggerating a smile and putting her head slightly to the side before turning to walk towards again.
The grey clouds were now lingering over Castle Rock and the rain was drizzling. Lizzy was just about to walk across the road when Ace's car cut in front of her, blocking the way. She tried to walk around the car in various different ways but each time, Ace drove in front. This was the only way to the grocery store.
'C'mon Ace, move'
'Get in the car' he smiled smugly.
'I don't have to if I don't want to'
'Is that so?' Ace asked, smirking making Lizzy nod in agreement.
'Well' he began, 'you don't have to get in but considering the rain is getting heavier I woulda thought you wanted to keep dry...plus I'm just gonna keep pestering you if you don't get in'
Sighing heavily, Lizzy made her way over to the passenger side. She just wanted to get to the store quickly so she could get back home. And if this is what it took then so be it, Lizzy reasoned with herself.

As Lizzy climbed into the passenger seat, Ace couldn't contain his smile of victory.
'You really gotta stop with the bribery you know' she said while buckling herself in and Ace beginning to drive.
'I'll try babe' He replied, causing Lizzy to give him a stormy look at him calling her babe.
'What were you doing outside Irby's Saturday night?' Ace asked.
'Ah, when you ignored me?'
'Yes' he answered, his jaw clenching slightly, eyes focused on the road.
'Actually I wasn't outside Irby's, I was outside the Blue Point Diner cause I just finished work'
'What's a pretty lil thing like you working there for, huh?'
'Something to do I guess, it's just part-time, just when they need some extra help'
'Might have to pop in some time' He grinned.
'Yeah well hopefully you pick a time when I'm not working'
'Ooooo mean' Ace smirked 'woulda thought you'd be more thankful for this ride'
'You practically forced me in'
'Don't pretend you weren't happy about it' He grinned, turning to make eye contact for a few seconds. Lizzy shook her head slightly.
'Speaking of Saturday though' Lizzy began 'I met Chris, Gordie, Teddy and Vern the other day a-'
'Those faggots' Ace interrupted
'They told me about Ray Brower's body on Saturday'
'What did they say?' He asked, eyes still looking forward at the road.
'Basically, you wanted the body, so did they and you were going to kill Chris for it'

Sitting there, Ace knew he had to quickly think of something. Was he willing to kill Chris? Yes, he probably would have. But he couldn't let Lizzy know that. He wouldn't never have a chance to get with her if she did.
After a couple seconds passed, Ace let a small chuckle
'Poor kid' he said shaking his head a little.
Confused, Lizzy looked at him, adding a small 'what?'
'Look, yeah we both wanted the body. I mean it was a chance to be on every TV and radio station in the country' Ace started explaining, pulling up outside the grocery store. The rain had died down now.
'But, I wasn't gonna kill any of them' he said, now facing Lizzy.
'You weren't?' She asked, still looking slightly confused
'Course not babe, what kind of person dya think I am?' He smirked
'What were the boys talking about then?'
'Well, I made it seem like I was willing to kill Chris just to try and make 'em back down'
Lizzy sat there for a second. His story had seemed to work, she looked like she believed him.
'Okay' she nodded slightly, 'well thanks for the lift' she said, stepping out of the car
'Thought you weren't gonna be thankful?' Ace said, mimicking a confused face
'Shut up' Lizzy playfully replied, shutting the car door.

Grinning, Ace looked in his rearview mirror. His grin quickly disappeared. Lizzy had saw Chris, Gordie, Teddy and Vern, waved them over to her and the 5 of them were now talking and laughing together, walking into the store.

As Ace drove off, a scowl was firmly on his face, replacing his previous grin. Those boys had already took the body of Ray Brower away from him. He'd be damned if he let them take Lizzy too.
