"Have you casted in your votes for prom King and Queen?" Melanie asked, licking her cherry lollipop she had been holding.

Camila couldn't help but to chuckle, finding Melanie's pep adorable. In all honesty, she didn't really care about prom King and Queen, even if she was nominated. All she was thinking about was Lauren, and what had happened the night before. She was excited, as well as nervous to see her at lunch.

"No, Melanie, I'm not really into this whole thing." she chuckled, her eyes traveling the halls for any sight of Lauren, surely her appointment would be over by now.

Melanie pursed her lips, raising an eyebrow. "I'm gonna tell you a secret. Lucas is in the lead for prom King and you are tied with Hailee for Queen. Prom is only a week away, so you may want to get as many votes as possible so it looks nice on your college application. I'm rooting for you!" She said, seeing her friend, Ruth, down the hall and running off.

Camila sighed, shaking her head and walking to her locker, she opened it and that's when a familiar face came from the corner of her eye.

"Mrs. Jauregui?"

Clara had her arms crossed against her chest as she eyed Camila. "Karla."

Camila felt nervous, threatened even. "Hello, um I don't mean to be rude or disrespect you or anything, but why are you here?" she asked, her eyes meeting Clara's piercing gaze. Her eyes were like Lauren's, only not as soft and loving. Maybe even evil looking.

"I know you were at my home last night in the earliest of hours." She got to the point. "It is one thing that you disobey my orders as in leaving my daughter alone, but when you wake me and my husband up in the middle of the night with your irritating clumsiness, it's rude and unacceptable. I thought I made myself clear when I-"

"Mom?"

Camila's eyes caught on behind Clara and a small grin spread across her lips, but she immediately wiped it off once she saw Clara staring at her.

Clara didn't acknowledge her daughter's presence, only leaned in to whisper in Camila's ear. "Hurt my daughter again, I'll make sure you regret it. I'll let you know what it's like to be in that chair."

Camila's eyes widened, and her heartbeat quickened. Did Clara just threaten to physically harm her? She didn't want to think about it, she was just staring at Lauren's worried looking eyes staring at her.

"Yes ma'm." she said back quietly, and with that Clara's demeanor changed.

"Hello, Lauren!" Clara said with a wide smile. "I was just seeing how Camila was doing, how her family was, catching up with all the deets!"

Lauren scrunched her nose, shaking her head at her mom's use of the slang word. "Mom you make me cringe, go home."

Clara laughed and waved off Lauren's joke. "You're so silly, better be getting home now. Nice talking to you, Camila." She said, kissing her daughter's forehead and walking past her, giving Camila the evil eye from behind.

Camila gulped, looking back at Lauren as her cheeks instantly flushed a bright shade of pink. She looked at the ground with an attempt to hide her smile.

"Hi Lauren...." she said softly

Lauren smiled, biting her lower lip anxiously and holding back the giggle as she sensed Camila's nervousness.

"Do you wanna um... walk to Monteith's with me?" Lauren asked.

Camila's head shot up and she instantly nodded. "Yeah, yeah, that would be cool."
