I have decided to continue this book. I'm kind of running out of ideas for contests, though. So if you have any it would be much obliged if you mentioned them in the comments.
For this contest you will need to write a love letter to Tyson based off of this small piece of writing:
Her grip was slipping. Their time was running out. The building was going to collapse at any minute and there was only one option. "Drop me." Kyla said firmly.
"What?! I'm not going to... No. Help is on its way." Tyson was determined to save her.
"You have to go. We're going to be crushed." She was surprised by how calm she felt. The whole situation was dire and she was completely level headed.
"I'm not --"
She shook her head and sighed, cutting him off. She would have to sacrifice herself in order for him to live. He was barely holding on to her hand and if she stopped clawing into his flesh in order to stay alive, Tyson would surely drop her.
"Tyson, there's an envelope in the front pocket of my bag with your name on it. Read it when you have the chance." Kyla could see the confusion forming on her friend's face. "Please. You have to get out of here." She dared a look down into the abyss to which she would fall. Seven stories down full of protruding poles and wires that weren't destroyed in the explosion, merely detached. There was no possibility that Kyla could ever survive the fall. And there she was, hanging from a thread, dangling over inevitable death.
Kyla looked pleadingly into Tyson's brown eyes. Everything they had been through together. Everything that had lead her to fall in love with him. And now she would never get to tell him. Any kiss or loving smile she had ever imagined between the two was now just that, her imagination. Kyla's only saving grace was that envelope in the front pocket of her bag. She hoped like hell that he would read it.
She took one last breath, taking in Tyson's being for the very last time. It hurt so much that there wasn't enough time to explain everything. Kyla pushed back the tears threatening to penetrate her surprisingly calm state. It felt like hours before she could find the right words to say. It was cruel how their whole friendship had to be wrapped up in one sentence. Kyla felt like she had been robbed of something great.
Kyla was almost in tears by the time she got the words out of her mouth. It had only been a few seconds of silence, but everything was moving in slow motion. One more breath felt like a lifetime worth of tearful sighs.
"I'm sorry." She said. And then she did the bravest, most heart breaking thing Kyla knew how to do.
She let go.
The envelope that she tells Tyson to retrieve has a letter in it describing her feelings toward him. Use the small amount of background info that the passage gives you to create the letter.
