Shawn and Katy's Engagement

Chapter 2

Later that night around 7:30 Shawn and Katy were out on their date at one of the fanciest restaurants in New York.

"Shawn, you really didn't have to go to all this trouble for our date." Katy said.

"Well, you see Katy, I kind of have to." Shawn said with a smile.

"Why? I would have been fine with just a regular restaurant."

"Well sweetheart, this is why." Shawn said as he got down on one knee beside Katy and pulled out a ring.

"Katy Hart, will you marry me? I want you to be my wife and I want Maya to be my daughter."

"Yes, I will marry you Shawn." Katy said as she started to cry.

Shawn smiled and stood up and kissed Katy.

"Let's go tell Maya the good news." Shawn said as he took Katy's hand and walked her out to the car.

When they got to the Matthews apartment they saw someone that Shawn hadn't seen in years.

"Mr. Turner, is that you?"

"Shawn, how are you?" Mr. Turner said shaking Shawn's hand.

"I'm good, just recently got engaged."

"Really? Congratulations!" Mr. Turner said. Maya walked into the living room.

"Well?" she asked as she walked up to Shawn and Katy.

"Well what?" Shawn said acting like nothing happened.

"Come on Shawn tell me, please?" Maya begged.

"Come on Shawn, let's tell her."

"Ok, Maya your mom and I are getting married." Shawn said with a big smile on his face. All Maya did was start crying as she gave Shawn and her mom a big hug. Shawn was so happy to start having a family.

"Shawn, Katy, Maya. This is for you." Cory said handing them an envelope.

"What is it Cory?" Shawn asked as he started to open it.

"Cory, are you serious?"

"Yes I am Shawn. It's already bought and paid for." Cory said with a smile on his face.

"What's bought and paid for?" Maya asked.

"Cory and Topanga bought us an apartment right across from theirs.

"Yes, we're gonna be neighbors. I gotta go tell the guys." Maya said running up to Riley's room.

"Guy guess what." Maya said while running into Riley's room.

"What is it Maya?" Riley asked her."

"Shawn and my mom are engaged and we're moving into an apartment right across from yours." Maya said in an excited tone.

"Maya, that's awesome." Lucas said pulling her into a hug.

"It's a dream come true. I've always wanted this always wanted this. I've always wanted a dad to stay and now I get one." Maya said as she started to cry.

"Hey guys." Thor said climbing through Riley's window.

"What happened?" he asked seeing Maya crying while Lucas was hugging her.

"Maya's mom is getting married to my Uncle Shawn and Maya has never had a dad who stayed before." Riley told Thor as she walked up to her.

"My dad left when I was little." Maya said as she let go of Lucas.

"Well, I'll tell you what Maya, if you need anything you let us know and we'll come help you out." Thor said giving Maya a smile.

"Thanks Thor, that means a lot." Maya said as she returned the smile and gave him a hug.

"Maya, you want to come to me and your mom to look at the apartment?" Shawn asked as he walked into Riley's room.

"Yeah, can Riley and our friends come?" Maya asked.

"Sure, come on guys." Shawn said as he led them to their apartment.

"You're Thor right?" Shawn asked acting like a protective father already.

"Yeah, I'm a friend of Riley and Maya's. I'm more of a big brother than anything else to them." Thor said assuring Shawn.

"Ok, I feel better now. I guess I just want Maya to know I'm there for her from now on." Shawn said.

"I understand that Shawn and I'll help keep an eye out on Maya while she's at school." Thor said to Shawn as they were walking to the door of Shawn and Katy's apartment.

"Thanks Thor, I appreciate it." Shawn said with a smile.
