A surprising awakening

I woke up to someone shaking me. Assuming it was Kat, I rolled over to look at her. I screamed. A face was hovering over me, inches away. Theo jumped back,

"Woah! Calm down! I knew you weren't a morning person but..." I narrowed my eyes,

"I was not expecting a male in my tent. Why are you here?"

"I was told to wake you up." He shrugged.

"Well, thanks, but you can go now." I growled. Theo's eyes widened and he backed out of the tent, muttering words like 'overreaction' under his breath. I rolled my eyes and got dressed, walking towards the tent flap. I unzipped it and stepped outside.

"Sorry about that, Lyra." This time, it was Kat.

"Yeah, we had to pull out the big guns." Robyn explained, "You sleep like a rock."

"Thanks?" I laughed and sat around the fire with the others. We ate our food an began to pack up, once everything was put away, and we had made it look like we had never been there, Kaylen took charge again.

"Okay everyone, let's get into our groups." We did as we were told. "Obviously, we don't really have the chance to stay in touch, but if you get the chance to Iris-Message, take it." We nodded. "So, my team, we'll go for Ly- him. And Lyra, your team will go for the book. Okay?" Everyone nodded, everyone but me.

"No." I shook my head,

"What?" Kaylen frowned,

"No, I don't want to go after the book. I want to go after him." I said firmly.

"Lyra, are you sur-"

"I'm going to go after him. And I'm going to kill him." There was a pause,

"Um, okay so, uh, is everyone okay with that then...?" Kaylen addressed the group, there were some shrugs and a few uneasy nods, but no one objected. I smiled,

"Great! So that's settled."
