Emma POV

The Governor walked up to Merle. "You wanted your family, now you got them".

There was a long wait before the Governor said anything.

"I asked you where your loyalties lie, and you said here. Well, prove it. Prove it to us all. In a a family feud". The Governor said.

The crowd murmured in agreement. The men let go of me and ruffly pushed me forward

"The winner goes free in a fight to the death". The Governor put his hand up in success.

The crowd grew more enthusiastic.

"Phillip, please. Don't do this". I heard someone shout in the crowd.

I looked around to see Andrea being restrained from getting any closer. The Governor ignored her and looked at us all completely emotionless. I looked from Daryl to Merle. We knew we where going to have to do it, we were out numbered 15 to 1. I heard the crowd cheering for Merle.

"You all know me, I'm going to do whatever I got to do to prove". Merle punched Daryl to the floor. "That my loyalty is to this town". Merle kicked Daryl in the stomach.

I ran up to Merle and jumped on his back.

"Play along". Merle grunted quietly.

"Then chuck me of near Daryl, I'll pass the word". I whispered in his ear.

He did as I said and as gently as he could threw me next to Daryl.

"Daryl play along". I said just a little above a whisper, my lips barely moving.

Daryl grunted to signal he got it and stood up. I slowly stood up next to him and made it look like I was in pain.

"You really think he's going to let you go if you win, if any of us win". I shouted over to Merle as the started bringing in walkers.

The tied the walkers in chains all over the field. Me, Daryl and Merle stood back to back punching the walkers. One was getting to close until someone fired a shot and it fell to the floor dead. All of a sudden shots ran out everywhere. Tear gas was thrown into the mix and the lights where shot out.

"Merle, Emma come on". Daryl encouraged.

We ran out of the smoke and I saw a man with my hunting knife. I ran up behind him and snatched it from his grasp. I ran back over to Daryl (who now had his crossbow), Merle, Rick and Maggie. We quickly climbed the fence and were met with the ugly faces of walkers.

"Shit, my weapons. I need to go back". I said quickly as I took down a walker with my hunting knife.

"No need, I've got them right here". Rick said handing me my special quiver which had all of my weapons in.

"Oh my god. Thank you". I said as I strapped the quiver on my back.

"No problem". Rick nodded.

"We ain't got time for this". Merle shouted and started to run off.

I sighed before we all followed him. Soon Rick took the lead because Merle didn't know where the car was. We walked through the woods until we saw the silver outline of the car.

"Glenn". Rick shouted Glenn over.

"Rick". Glenn answered. "Oh thank god". He said as he saw all of us. I saw a black woman come and stand behind Glenn.

"Now we got a problem here, I need you to backup". Rick said as we got closer.

As soon as Glenn and the black woman saw Merle they pulled out their weapons. Me, Dayl and RIck formed a protective barrier around Merle.
