Leaning against the door, Atsushi was worrying himself too much, his eyes were trained downcast and he realized that the he was so silent.

He was waiting for the news.

He didn't care if the Agency will give him one week suspension for bringing a Mafia assassin who already killed 35 innocent people in just 6 months. He was just that concerned to a stranger that he just met. Top it all of, she even attempted on killing him. It was his fault, that what he believed. If Atsushi had noticed it just earlier.

His thoughts were focused solely on the news of the young girl recovering and thoughts of regret. After all, the words she had told Atsushi was so striking to him that it brought nostalgia.

While patiently waiting for the news, he remembered his overly pessimistic self (though he was still the same and he certainly regret quite a few things that be failed to do.) That boy who always depreciate himself, who always cry, who always blame himself in his strings of failures and that boy who had no capacity to save someone from the same agony.

But Atsushi changed.

It was all thanks to his odd superior, Osamu Dazai. His suicidal activities still made him look like so incompetent but nonetheless, he saved Atsushi and so, it was Atsushi's time to look after someone.

Loud creaking of shoes at the contact on the floor were slowly nearing his place.

"You've brought quite a trouble here huh?"

His head shot upward, worried. He felt responsible like his shoulders were getting heavier. It was Kunikida, the other odd pair of the two, the suicidal maniac and his idealist partner and judging by his face, he seemed more angrier than usual. His temper had gone high a lot since the absence of his partner whom he distastefully hated who continued to violate his ideals.

"Kunikida-san may either intention ally or unintentionally tried to say it in a blunt manner but I know he meant well," he thought.

"Y-yes," Atsushi blurted out as if pushing out the word from his throat to his mouth. Kunikida shot an eye at him so suddenly.

"Hey. It's not your fault, brat," his gleamed as he fixed it in his bridge.

He ruefully smiled and turned his stretched hand into a firm fist, his eyes looking solely to it. He never felt such strong regret before.

Quite so sudden, a phone was tossed in his way. Perfectly landing on Atsushi's palm. The rabbit keychain attached to the phone.
