You continued walking through the many hallways of the school as you searched for your best friend, Taehyung. It's no surprise that he's disappeared for the third time of the day because you already know him all too well. He quickly gets bored in class so even though the class is still ongoing, suddenly he's gone in an instant to somewhere only he knows. Sometimes nobody even notices how he disappears.
You, however, prefer staying in class and out of trouble. Ever since you became seatmates with him starting from the day you transferred to Converse High, you already tried bringing him back to the light, but he just likes his own little Taehyung world too much so eventually you just gave up and let him be. He, on the other hand, also tried bringing you with him to the dark side, but you too liked your own little world as well so in the end, both of you just decided to let each other do as he pleases.
But today is different.
As soon as Taehyung's friends told you that he didn't attend three consecutive afternoon classes, you immediately grabbed your things and started looking for him. It's normal for him to be gone for certain periods, yes, but to be gone for three straight hours?
Definitely not normal.
Breathing heavily, you decided to finally stop and rest somewhere because it felt like you already toured the whole school twice. Like seriously. That guy always pops up in places you least expect, so it's basically impossible to find him.
"Dammit Taehyung, where are you?!" You hissed, gripping your hair in frustration.
"I'm here," a voice answered from nearby. You had to pause and think if you were just hallucinating, since nobody else was in the hallway. Just to check, you walked around to find where the voice could have come from, and you saw a nearby lounge room that you never even knew existed. And indeed, Taehyung was in there, casually sitting on a couch with a comic book in hand.
You breathed a sigh of relief, just glad that nothing bad happened to him. You carefully entered the room just in case Taehyung gets triggered for some reason and throws a tantrum. Dealing with Taehyung in this state is very dangerous and requires to proceed with great caution.
Seriously, this guy is even moodier than a teenage girl with PMS.
Still staring at Taehyung who still had his eyes glued to his comic book, you sat on another couch across him. There were piles of comic books around him, ones that he has or would probably read, and there seemed to be many more on the tall bookshelf on one corner of the small room. By the looks of it, he's been here for the past few hours.
"Here," he tossed another comic book to you and you swiftly caught it. You scanned the cover and saw that it was actually a manga entitled "Little Miss Heart Breaker."
"Hm, so you read romance too, huh." You commented while doing a quick scan of the book.
"Kind of," he simply answered. Noticing that the familiar liveliness in his voice was gone, you turned all your attention back to him.
"You were gone for three hours," you deadpanned, just in case he wasn't aware. However, he pretended not to hear you and didn't even answer.
"Taehyung, you're not usually gone that long."
Still, he didn't say anything. Sighing, you sat on the edge of your seat and tried to look at his face partly hidden by the comic book.
"Is everything okay?"
